Experience
Mr. Tong's principal expertise is in Mining, Administrative and Corporate Law and Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Legislation. He has also participated in several processes involving the privatization and acquisition of companies and mining prospects in Peru.
He has extensive experience in corporate and commercial matters, natural resources, mining concessions, mining procedures, and administrative proceedings initiated before the Ministry of Energy and Mines, as well as in the handling of permits, licenses and authorizations for the use and or exploitation of natural resources.
Part of his work involves analyzing and structuring transactions related to mining concessions, such as transfer, assignment, option and join venture contracts.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Advocatus, a magazine edited by students and graduates of the Department of Law and Political Science of Universidad de Lima.
Mr. Tong is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Instituto Nacional de Derecho de Minería, Petróleo y Energía (National Institute of Mining, Oil and Energy Law) and is a professor of the Mining, Oil and Gas Law Course of Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC).
