Experience

Mr. La Torre's principal expertise is in tax consultancy and advice in tax planning. He has also represented clients in tax proceedings both at an administrative level (before the National Superintendence of Tax Administration and the Tax Court) and court level.

He has extensive experience in the analysis of tax impact transactions, tax planning for local and foreign investors, tax procedures, special assignments involving the determination of liabilities, evaluation of tax contingencies and payroll review. He has also participated in a variety of tax due diligence processes, in which he evaluated the tax contingencies of the companies subject-matter of review for open periods.

Mr. La Torre has been a senior associate at Estudio Ferrero Abogados (1999-2004) providing tax consultancy services, which included the development of alternatives that inured to the client's economic benefit. Moreover, he acted as counsel in tax procedures, and provided support in the determination of taxes, aimed at the filing of monthly and annual tax returns. At this stage, his practice involving the representation of mining and insurance companies should be highlighted.

He is a professor of the Tax Law Course at Universidad de Lima and has written various articles on tax matters.
