Mr. Puelles' principal expertise is in Bankruptcy Law (insolvency and business reorganization), Air and Space Law, Free Competition, International Practice and Civil Law. His work focuses on advising companies in economic and financial reorganization matters in the private sector or in administrative proceedings regulated by the General Law of the Bankruptcy System. He also advises creditors in such proceedings, as well as in matters regarding the design and execution of reorganization plans, and the bankruptcy regulation of financial entities, among others. As far as his practice in Air and Space Law is concerned, he represents the most important companies and groups in the reinsurance international market in aviation matters regarding the legal aspects derived from air accidents, air insurance, litigation and negotiations. Moreover, his practice encompasses advisory in civil contracts in general, civil liability, arbitration and litigation.
Mr. Puelles has been a legal assistant of the Consumer Protection Committee of Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y de la Protección a la Propiedad Intelectual (National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property) (1996). He has been a professor of Civil Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (1998 - 1999) and at Universidad de Lima (1998 - 2002). Since 1999, he serves as professor of Civil Law in the Contracts II course at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas . Furthermore, he has been a speaker at various seminars and conferences on Civil Law and Bankruptcy Law matters.
