Experience
Mr. Balta's principal expertise is in Labor Law, and his work often focuses on providing general advice to companies, and on matters related to the recruitment and dismissal of workers, discrimination at work and securing resident visas for foreign citizens in Peru. He has extensive experience in the structuring of recruitment and salary systems. Moreover, he has led negotiations related to downsizing in different companies.
He has taught a variety of Labor Law courses at the Law School of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú since 1996. He wrote the book "Sexual Harassment in the Private Employment Relationships".
Mr. Balta has also been a member and vice-president of the Consumer Protection Committee of INDECOPI (1996 - 1999), and part of the Special Committee responsible for drafting the Code of Commerce (1996 - 1999). He served as member of the jury in the candidate selection process conducted by the Fulbright Commission for graduate scholarships in Law (September 1995).
