Mr. Del Busto has vast experience in government-related matters. His principal expertise is in Corporate - Commercial Law and Tax Law, and his work focuses on privatization, mergers and acquisitions, new investments, shareholders' contracts, joint ventures and regulations related to the Stock Market .
Moreover, his practice encompasses matters concerning Energy, International Practice, Concessions System and Public Law, with an emphasis on Government Procurement. A major part of his professional practice was initially related to corporate and tax activities. He then served in the public sector as chief advisor to five ministers of Justice, since 1980, and board member of CONSULCOP (Administrative Court for Public Works). In this field, he prepared several draft laws, and negotiated and participated in the drafting of international agreements on behalf of Peru. In parallel, he participated in the creation and development of the Government Procurement System, starting with the bidding proceedings and national and international invitations to tender for asset acquisition and works contracting, including the most recent privatizations and concessions involving infrastructure and public services. He has held the position of director of Comisión Nacional Supervisora de Empresas y Valores [National Supervising Committee of Companies and Securities] (1992-1997), and has served as advisor to its Board of Directors (1997-2000). Mr. Del Busto has participated and still plays an active role as a director in significant electric distribution, insurance, trade and industry companies. Memberships Lima Bar Association.
