Experience

Ms. Alvarado's principal expertise is in Trademarks and Patents, Copyrights, Domain Names, Unfair Competition, Advertising, Technology Transfer, Licensing, Franchises and Litigation.

Moreover, she has held the positions of Deputy Head of the Distinctive Signs Office (1994-1996), and Head of the Distinctive Signs Office (1995) of Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y de la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual (Indecopi) [National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property].

Ms. Alvarado has participated in the drafting of the Industrial Property Law (1996), and was a member of the Latin America Legislation Analysis Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association [INTA] (2000-2001). She was also a member of the INTA Bulletin Editorial Board (2001-2003). At present, she is a member of the Anti-Counterfeiting & Enforcement Committee of INTA.

She also served as foreign lawyer at Frito-Lay Inc., Dallas, United States of America (2001).

She integrated the Inta Publishing Bulletin Board (2001-2003) and Anti-Counterfeiting & Enforcement the Committee (2003-2005) of the INTA. At the moment integra the Dilution & Well-Known Marks Commitee of the INTA.
