The Electricity Area of Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano Abogados provides advisory to a series of national and foreign companies in the legal and regulatory aspects related to electric activities since the beginning of the privatization process of such sector in 1994.
This practice area includes the issuance of specialized opinions and reports; the analysis and preparation of comments to regulatory proposals applicable to regulated companies; the design and implementation of strategies for the issuance of or amendment to rules and regulations necessary for a better market operation; advisory in privatization processes and awarding of infrastructure and public services concessions; and the preparation and negotiation of concession, interconnection, supply, operation and maintenance contracts, the creation of easements, and shared access and use of infrastructure.
