Juan Guillermo Lohmann specializes in civil law, local and international arbitrations and civil and trade litigations.
He counsels on negotiation, mediation and settlement of civil and commercial disputes. He represents clients in civil, contentious-administrative, trade, constitutional, and local and international arbitration proceedings.
He has been a member of the Civil Code and Civil Procedural Code amendment commissions, a member of the special commission for the Comprehensive Reform of the Justice Administration in Peru (CERIAJUS), and a representative of the Lima Bar Association at the Council of the Judiciary. He served as amicus curiæ to the Supreme Court and he was a member of the Arbitrations Council of the Lima Chamber of Commerce. He is a fellow of the Peruvian Academy of Law (since 2000) and a member of its 2008-2010 Board of Directors. He has been President of the Peruvian Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Association.
Juan Guillermo authored a number of articles of his practice area, and the books titled El negocio jurídico (The Legal Business), El arbitraje (The Arbitration) and Derecho de Sucesiones (Inheritance Law). He has been a teacher under the School of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad de Lima, and Universidad de Piura.
