The Third Final Provision of the Regulation of the General Fisheries Law was repealed
By means of DS 018-2020-PRODUCE published today, September 24th, the Third Final Provision of the Regulation of the General Fisheries Law adopted by DS 012-2001-PE was repealed.
In said provision it was established that authorizations to increase the fleet would not be granted in favor of used fishing vessels acquired abroad, when they are dedicated to the extraction of fully exploited species or when access to a certain resource is limited. However, it is considered necessary to repeal this provision since there are currently regulatory provisions governing the technical characteristics that fishing vessels must have.
