CLOSED FISHING SEASON AND AUTHORIZATIONS

I. Fishing season for river shrimp resource in public water bodies on the western slopes of the Andes shall be extended until January 4, 2021

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 418-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 18, 2020, it is exceptionally provided that the fishing season for Cryphiops caementarius and Macrobrachium spp. river shrimp resource in the public water bodies of the western slope of the Andes shall be extended until January 4, 2021. The extraction, processing, transport, commercialization and use of the resource shall be prohibited from January 5 to March 31, 2021.

II. Exceptional authorization for extraction, transfer and supply of the fan shell resource in the marine area off the coast of the Constitutional Province of Callao, and on the southeast side of San Lorenzo Island

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 419-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 18, 2020, it is authorized exceptionally, the extraction, transfer and supply for aquaculture purposes of 69.00 tons of fish less than 65 mm in valvar height of the fan shell resource (Argopecten purpuratus), in the marine area where this resource is distributed, that is, in front of the coast of the Constitutional Province of Callao, and on the southeast side of San Lorenzo Island. The beginning of the activity of extraction, transfer and supply of the fan-shell resource (Argopecten purpuratus) is subject to the notification of the days foreseen for the development of the authorized activities referred to in literal b) of Article 5 of the aforementioned Ministerial Resolution, and shall be concluded when the quota provided for in the preceding Article is reached or, failing that, by December 31, 2020.

III. Extractive activities of the horse mackerel resource established by R.M. No. 025-2020-PRODUCE was concluded

Though Ministerial Resolution No. 425-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 21, 2020, the extractive activities of the horse mackerel resource (Trachurus murphyi) established by Ministerial Resolution No. 025-2020-PRODUCE, and extended by Ministerial Resolution No. 123-2020-PRODUCE, are concluded from 00:00 hours on December 22, 2020. Likewise, the execution of the Exploratory Fishery of the horse mackerel resource (Trachurus murphyi) authorized by Ministerial Resolution Nº 00186-2020-PRODUCE was concluded from 00:00 hours on December 22, 2020.

IV. The reproductive ban of the “boquichico” resource in the Amazonian water bodies of the Pasco region was temporarily established being prohibited its extraction, transport, processing, commercialization and/or storage

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 00437-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 29, 2020, the reproductive ban of the boquichico resource (Prochilodus nigricans) in the Amazonian water bodies of the Pasco region was temporarily established from 00:00 hours on December 30, 2020 until January 31, 2021, and the extraction, transport, processing, commercialization and/or storage of the mentioned resource shall be prohibited.

V. Catch limit for bonito resource was established for 2021

Ministerial Resolution No. 00463-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 31, 2020 establishes the catch limit for the bonito resource (Sarda chiliensis chiliensis) for the year 2021, at fifty-one thousand 51,000 tons, applicable to extractive activities carried out by purse seine fishing vessels with a fishing permit in force. This quota may be modified according to the biological-fishing and/or environmental factors estimated by the Peruvian Sea Institute – IMARPE, for which it will send the recommendation with the corresponding measures to the Ministry of Production. In addition, the Ministry of Production shall terminate the extractive activities of the bonito resource (Sarda chiliensis chiliensis) once the quota established for purse seine fishing vessels provided for in this Article has been reached, or failing that, its execution may not exceed December 31, 2021; or when IMARPE recommends it for environmental or biological circumstances.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

I. Health Guidelines for the Aquaculture Productive Category of Limited Resources (AREL) were adopted

Through Executive Presidency Resolution No. 080-2020-SANIPES/PE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 5, 2020, the Health Guidelines for the Aquaculture Productive Category of Limited Resources (AREL) were adopted, without effect the Executive Board Resolution No. 069-2016-SANIPES/DE, which adopted the “Minimum Health Guidelines for the Aquaculture Productive Category of Limited Resources (AREL)”. Natural persons carrying out aquaculture activity under the productive category of Aquaculture of Limited Resources (AREL) and, the holders of non-commercial basic education establishments carrying out aquaculture activities must comply with the provisions established in these health guidelines within a term not exceeding thirty (30) working days of entry into force.

II. Health Guidelines for the Execution of the “Model of Control and Test Frequencies of Chemical Pollutants (Heavy and Environmental Metals) were adopted  

Through Board Resolution No. 200-2020-SANIPES/DSFPA published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 10, 2020, the Health Guidelines for the Execution of the “Model of Control and Test Frequencies of Chemical Pollutants (Heavy and Environmental Metals)” were adopted.

APPOINTMENTS

I. Head of the Accounting, Finance and Treasury Unit of the Administration Office of SANIPES was appointed

Through Executive Presidency Resolution No. 079-2020-SANIPES/PE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on December 1, 2020, Mr. Emerson Canlla Viera was appointed as Head of the Accounting, Finance and Treasury Unit of the Administration Office of the National Fisheries Health Agency – SANIPES, as provided for in the Table for the Allocation of Provisional Personnel (Provisional CAP), as a position of trust of the Entity.
