By Ministerial Resolution Nº 334-2022-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 8, 2022, the total maximum catch limit of the perico resource for the 2022-2023 season was established at 44,000 tons applicable to the fishery season until April 30, 2023.
2. CONCLUSION OF THE EXTRACTIVE ACTIVITIES OF THE BONITO RESOURCE
By Ministerial Resolution Nº 345-2022-PRODUCE, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 22, 2022, the extractive activities of the bonito resource for all types of fleets and in the entire Peruvian maritime area were terminated from 00.00 hours of the day following the publication of the resolution, starting the reproductive closure of said resource. Unloading is allowed as long as there is an authorization to set sail prior to the conclusion of the extraction activities; likewise, storage, processing, commercialization and transport is allowed as long as there is indubitable documentation that the resource was extracted prior to the date of conclusion.
3. COMPLEMENTARY CATCH QUOTA OF THE JACK MACKEREL RESOURCE FOR ARTISANAL VESSELS IS ESTABLISHED FOR 2022
By Ministerial Resolution Nº 365-2022-PRODUCE, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 28, 2022, the total maximum complementary catch limit of the jack mackerel resource for the 2022 season applicable to artisanal fishery vessels with a valid fishery permit was established. Such limit is set at 18,544 tons and is effective from 00.00 hours of the day following the publication of the resolution.
Through Ministerial Resolution Nº 328-2022-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 2, 2022, Annex I of Ministerial Resolution Nº 209-2001-PE was modified, regarding the minimum size and catch percentage of juvenile specimens for the sole resource, setting it at 38 cm and 25%, respectively.
2. LAW THAT SPECIFIES THE SCOPE OF THE CONDITION OF HIGHLY MIGRATORY RESOURCES OF LAW Nº 28965 IS ENACTED
By means of Law Nº 31584, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 9, 2022, the scope of Article 1 of the Law of Promotion for the extraction of highly migratory hydrobiological resources – Law Nº 28965 was specified, indicating that the catches made by foreign vessels with fishery permits granted by Peru and within the maritime domain zone of the Peruvian State, the customs regimes provided for in the Single Ordered Text of the General Customs Law, such as import for consumption, temporary admission for inward processing, replacement of duty-free goods, customs warehousing and others applicable to the entry of goods into the country, shall be applicable to their entry into the country.
3. THE CREATION OF THE MINISTRY OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE IS DECLARED OF NATIONAL INTEREST AND PUBLIC NECESSITY
By means of Law Nº 31597, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 28, 2022, the creation of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture was declared of national interest and public necessity, having been enacted by the Congress of the Republic.
