ALERT – MIGRATIONS

The National Superintendency of Migrations published on its digital platforms that the stays and residences of foreigners with pending migration procedures shall remain in force during the State of Emergency.

Today, the National Superintendency of Migrations – MIGRATIONS specified that, pursuant to Superintendency Resolution No. 00000104-2020-MIGRATIONS, published on March 20, 2020, the periods of stay and residence have been extended by the State declaration Emergency carried out by the Peruvian Government.

The main provisions to be taken into account are:

1. Temporary or resident migratory status remains in force until the end of the State of Emergency.

2. Foreign citizens who have pending migration procedures during the State of Emergency shall remain regular and shall not accumulate fines or penalties.

3. Administrative deadlines and fines for exceeding the duration of stay have been suspended since March 16, 2020.

4. Upon completion of the State of Emergency, foreign citizens may regularize their migration status.

5. Exit orders to leave are kept suspended, for whom their migration quality change or extension procedures have been denied.

6. Periods of special leave granted to foreigners so that they can be absent from the national territory, as well as to those who are residents and are outside the country, remain extended.
