Migratory Alert – May 2020

ALERT – MIGRATIONS

The National Superintendence of Migrations has published Superintendence´s Resolutions No. 000117-2020-MIGRACIONES and No. 000121-2020-MIGRACIONES, published on May 5 and 7, 2020 respectively. The same ones that we will detail:

1. Superintendence Resolution No. 000121-2020-MIGRACIONES, which authorizes the use of the “Proof of Issuance of Alien Registration Card”, “Proof of Issuance of Alien Registration Card for Minors”, “Proof of Issuance of Temporary Residence Permit Card – PTP”, and the“ Proof of Issuance of Temporary Residence Permit Card – PTP for Minors”, in favor of foreign citizens who proceeded to register in the Central Register of Alien Registration, or for obtaining duplicates of the alien registration card and that, due to the order of social isolation in the state of Health Emergency by COVID-19, could not collect the respective documents.

Said proof must be managed through the official website of Migrations and must contain complete data of the foreign citizen and their biometric data. The certificates shall be valid for the same purposes as the cards, and may therefore be used for any civil, commercial, administrative, judicial act or in any case where identification is required.

Its validity shall remain in force until the state of emergency ends and until the issuance of the respective card.

2. Superintendence Resolution No. 000117-2020-MIGRACIONES, which declares the Registry of Migratory Information – RIM constituted, the same one containing relevant information and referring to:

a) Entrances and exits of national and foreign citizens.

b) Granting, cancellation, and denial of migratory qualities.

c) Issuance and denial of visas by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

d) International traffic restrictions and impediments.

e) Sanctions imposed in immigration matters.

f) Issuance and cancellation of travel documents.

g) Registration of foreigners with document type, among other data.

h) Information on convictions of foreigners for committing crimes and admission to correctional facilities.

i) Registration of nationalities.

j) Biometric information.

Migrations seeks to implement all the mechanisms for interoperability with national and foreign institutions aimed at providing citizens with a quality service within the framework of the digital transformation that the institution has undertaken with this Resolution.
