The organization structure of the IMARPE and appointment of their executive president is amended through Emergency Decree
Through Emergency Decree N° 015-2020 published on Thursday January 23, 2020, several articles of Legislative Decree N°95 – Law of the Peruvian Institute of the Sea (IMARPE) were amended. These amendments are mainly referred to the functions and the organizational structure of the Institution, especially with regard to the composition of the Board of Directors and the mechanism for the selection of the Executive President and the requirements to hold such position.
Extraction of the hake resource by trawlers in the coastal area is suspended.
Through Ministerial Resolution N° 030-2020-PRODUCE published on Thursday January 23, 2020, the extraction activities of the hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) carried out by trawlers are suspended. This suspension encompasses the area between the extreme north and parallel 04°00´S of the maritime domain for a term of fourteen (14) calendar days, and will take effect from 00.00 hours on the day following the publication of the abovementioned Ministerial Resolution.
