By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 354-2023-PRODUCE, published today October 18, 2023 as an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” corresponding to October 17, the the Peruvian Sea Institute- IMARPE was authorized to carry out an exploratory fishery of anchovy with the participation of the industrial fishery fleet with the general objective of verifying if there is segregation between schools of juvenile and adult specimens.
The exploratory fishery will be carried out for five (5) calendar days and will begin at 00.00 hours on October 21 in the area between 05°S and 15°59′ S outside 10 miles from the coast. The owners of the participating vessels are obliged to facilitate the boarding of a representative of IMARPE or of the General Directorate of Supervision, Inspection and Sanction of the Ministry of Production. The catches made will be deducted from the corresponding Maximum Catch Limit per Vessel (LMCE North – Center) of the second fishing season 2023 assigned to the vessels.
II. THE START OF THE SECOND ANCHOVY FISHERY SEASON 2023 IS AUTHORIZED IN THE NORTH-CENTRAL ZONE AND WITH A QUOTA OF 1’682,000 TONS
By Ministerial Resolution N° 358-2023-PRODUCE, published on October 22, 2023 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the start of the second anchovy fishery season 2023 in the north central zone between the northern end of the Peruvian maritime domain and 16°00′ S, as of 00.00 hours on October 26, 2023.
The Total Maximum Allowable Catch Limit (quota) of anchovy and white anchovy for indirect human consumption is 1’682,000 tons. The date of conclusion is when the extraction of the mentioned quota is completed or when it is established by IMARPE due to the biological conditions of the resource.
III. TOTAL MAXIMUM CATCH LIMIT OF PERICO FOR THE 2023-2024 SEASON IS ESTABLISHED
By Ministerial Resolution N° 359-2023-PRODUCE, published on October 22, 2023 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit (quota) of perico for the 2023-2024 season was established. This quota will be 45,000 tons and is applicable until April 30, 2024.
IV. EXPLORATORY FISHERY FOR BONITO WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF ARTISANAL PURSE SEINE VESSELS OF UP TO 10 M3 OF WELL CAPACITY IS AUTHORIZED
By Ministerial Resolution N° 360-2023-PRODUCE, published on October 22, 2023 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, IMARPE was authorized to carry out an exploratory fishery of the bonito resource with the participation of artisanal purse seine fishing vessels of up to 10 m3 of well capacity.
The corresponding dates will be from October 25 to October 31 and from December 1 to December 12.
V. ANCHOVY FISHERY ACTIVITIES SUSPENDED IN SEVERAL COASTAL AREAS
By means of Directorial Resolution N° 177-2023-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published in the Ministry of Production’s Website on October 25, 2023, the suspension of anchovy extractive activities in the following dates and areas was ordered:

By means of Directorial Resolution N° 738-2023-PRODUCE/DGPCHDI published in the website of the Ministry of Production on October 23, 2023, the list of allocation of the Anchoveta Maximum Catch Limits per Vessel for the second fishery season 2023 was approved.
By Supreme Resolution N° 010-2023-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 25, 2023, it was decided to establish an additional term of 6 months as from the entry into force of this regulation, for artisanal fishery vessels formalized under Legislative Decree N° 1392 and with hold capacity from 6.48 gross tonnage to 32.6 m3 of hold capacity, to comply with the installation of the satellite tracking system equipment.
Likewise, PRODUCE is granted a term of 60 working days from the day following the publication of this rule, to amend or replace the Satellite Tracking System Regulation – SISESAT, approved by Supreme Decree No. 001-2014-PRODUCE to promote the expansion of the supply of suppliers, among other technical aspects.
By Supreme Resolution N° 019-2023-PRODUCE published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette”El Peruano” on October 20, 2023, Mr. Javier Blas Verástegui Lazo was appointed as Executive President of the National Agency of Fisheries Health – SANIPES.
By Supreme Resolution N° 018-2023-MINAM published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 21, 2023, Ms. Rosa Francisca Zavala Correa was appointed as Vice-Minister of Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment.
By Supreme Resolution N° 021-2023-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on October 23, 2023, Mr. Javier Blas Verástegui Lazo’s resignation as Executive President of SANIPES was accepted and Ms. Úrsula Desilú León Chempén, Vice-Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, was appointed as Executive President of SANIPES.
