COVID-19 is no longer considered an international health emergency, according to the announcement of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The 15th meeting of the WHO Emergency Committee held on May 4 highlighted the declining trend in deaths, the decrease in hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care units, and the high levels of population immunity to SARS-CoV-2.
WHO published the document entitled “From emergency response to long-term management of COVID-19 disease: sustaining the gains made during the COVID-19 pandemic”, which contains its strategic preparedness and response plan up to 2025.
