HEALTH EMERGENCY: TERM EXTENDED
Supreme Decree No. 003-2023-SA extended the national health emergency due to the existence of COVID-19 for a period of ninety (90) calendar days as of February 25, 2023.

TRACEABILITY: FOOD SAFETY
Ministerial Resolution No. 106-2023/MINSA approved the Food Safety Traceability Directive.
The Directive establishes the provisions for traceability for food safety of industrially processed foods in the food chain. It applies to natural and legal persons involved in the stages of the food chain of manufacture, distribution, fractionation, storage and importation of industrially processed foods, except for fishery and aquaculture products.
DIGEMID
ONCOLOGICAL PRODUCTS – PROCUREMENT OF PRODUCTS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NATIONAL FORMULARY
Ministerial Resolution No.191-2023/MINSA established that public health facilities may procure cancer drugs that are not included in the National Formulary, subject to a favorable technical opinion from the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN).
Hospitals and Specialized Institutes that receive these drugs must report monthly to the DIGEMID the monitoring and follow-up on the use of these drugs, as well as the pharmacovigilance reports to guarantee patient safety.
MINSA
MEDICAL OXYGEN GENERATING PLANTS
Ministerial Resolution No. 101-2023/MINSA approved the Maintenance Plan for Medicinal Oxygen Generating Plants of MINSA’s IPRESS and regional governments – 2023.
The Plan provides preventive and corrective maintenance to the plants and provides technical information on their functioning and operation. It is mandatory for the IPRESS of MINSA and regional governments that have such plants.

BEER – PERUVIAN TECHNICAL STANDARDS
By means of Directorial Resolution N° 002-2023-INACAL/DN, the National Institute of Quality (INS) approved three (3) Peruvian Technical Standards (NTP) related to beer:
NTP 213.004:2023 BEER. Determination of alcohol. Test methods.
NTP 213.037:2023 BEER. Original, real and apparent extract and original gravity of beer.
NTP 213.038:2023 BEER. Determination of carbon dioxide. Pressure method.

Ministerial Resolution No. 135-2023/MINSA published the draft Regulation of Health Service Provider Institutions (IPRESS) and the draft of its explanatory memorandum.

REGULATION IMPROVING MANAGEMENT AND EFFICIENCY IN iPRESS
Ministerial Resolution No. 177-2023/MINSA published the draft Regulation that approves the Provisions to improve management and efficiency in the provision of health services in Health Service Provider Institutions (IPRESS) and the draft of its explanatory memorandum.
