Supreme Executive Order stipulating the filing term for private co-financed sanitation project initiatives is approved

On May 4, 2019, the Supreme Executive Order No. 016-2019-VIVIENDA was published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, pursuant thereto the filing term for private co-financed sanitation project initiatives in the Region of Loreto and urban areas of the Provinces of Huaura, Barranca, Huancavelica, Andahuaylas and Ilo is stipulated. The regulation came into effect on May 5, 2019.

Main regulation aspects are noted as follows:

– Filing term for private co-financed initiatives is stipulated to be three months, starting from the publication date of this regulation. Filing of this initiatives will be carried out within 30 business days upon said 3-month term.

– Projects in compliance with the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation are detailed as follows:

 (i) Sanitary sewage and wastewater treatment service in the City of Iquitos (improvement and extension);

(ii) Wastewater service in urban area of the Province of Huaura;

(iii) Wastewater service in urban area of the Province of Barranca;

(iv) Wastewater service in urban area of the Provinces of Huancavelica and Andahuaylas;

(V) Drinking water service by seawater desalination in urban area of the Province of Ilo;

Rural sanitation service in the Region of Loreto.

– The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation shall inform Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) of the needs of intervention and maximum budget capacity to finance private co-financed initiatives. This information shall be posted on PROINVERSIÓN webpage within 10 business days upon publication of such regulation.

– Finally, it is stipulated that expenses regarding regulation compliance will be covered by the institutional budget of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation without representing additional resources to the Public Treasury.
