LIST OF ABBREVIATED NAMES OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS
Ministerial Resolution Nº 735-2022/MINSA publishes the draft “List of Abbreviated Designations of Pharmaceutical Products and their classification for Standard Health Data Identification Nº 002”. The abbreviated name is the combination of the following identifying characteristics of the pharmaceutical product: International Nonproprietary Name, pharmaceutical form, concentration, presentation of the immediate container.

This is due to literal b) of Article 22 of the Regulation of Law Nº 30024, Law that creates the National Registry of Electronic Medical Records, adopted by Supreme Decree Nº 009-2017-SA. The aforementioned regulation refers that, as a basic requirement for the accreditation process of the electronic medical records information system, this system must comply with the standard health data identifications adopted by Supreme Decree Nº 024-2005-SA.

INTERNATIONAL

SUPPLEMENTARY PROTOCOL TO THE CARTAGENA PROTOCOL ON BIOTECHNOLOGY SAFETY
The purpose of this Protocol is to contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, taking into account risks to human health, by providing international rules and procedures in relation to living modified organisms. The Protocol applies to damage resulting from living modified organisms whose origin was a transboundary movement. The living modified organisms to which it refers are those:

1. Intended for direct use as food or feed or for processing;
2. Intended for contained use;
3. Intended for deliberate introduction into the environment.

The aforementioned Protocol shall enter into force for Peru on December 8, 2022.

HEALTH DIRECTIVE FOR VACCINATION AGAINST COVID -19 IS MODIFIED
Ministerial Resolution Nº 725-2022/MINSA amends Health Directive Nº 137-MINSA/DGIESP-2021, Health Directive for vaccination against COVID-19, adopted by Ministerial Resolution Nº 1169-2021/MINSA.

REGULATION OF THE FOOD AND NUTRITIONAL SECURITY LAW
Ministerial Resolution Nº 0373-2022-MIDAGRI publishes the draft Regulation of Law Nº 31315, Food and Nutritional Security Law. The purpose of these Regulations is to contribute to the development of public policies that guarantee the right to healthy food and nutrition of the population. This Regulation applies to all public sector entities at the national, regional and local levels, private sector and civil society, which exercise competences, attributions and functions related to food and nutrition security.

NATIONAL PRIORITIES FOR RESEARCH ON COVID-19 AND OTHER RESPIRATORY VIRUSES WITH PANDEMIC POTENTIAL
Ministerial Resolution Nº 711-2022/MINSA adopts the “National Research Priorities on COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) and other respiratory viruses with pandemic potential: Preparing for the next pandemic, 2022-2026”. The strategic objectives are as follows:

1. Improve communication of public health and health literacy actions.
2. Improve and innovate epidemiological surveillance systems.
3. Develop pandemic preparedness.
4. Strengthen governance at different levels of the health system.
5. Identify social determinants in COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses with 6. pandemic potential and identify factors related to social equity and health.
6. Develop technologies for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control of respiratory virus infections with pandemic potential.

CERTIFICATION OF GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES OF FOREIGN LABORATORIES
By Ministerial Resolution Nº 750-2022/MINSA authorizes Digemid to travel to Chile from September 25 to October 1, 2022.

By Ministerial Resolution Nº 733-2022/MINSA authorizes the Digemid to travel to Colombia from October 2 to 8, 2022.

By Ministerial Resolution Nº 715-2022/MINSA authorizes the Digemid to travel to Paraguay from September 25 to October 1, 2022.

Ministerial Resolution Nº 714-2022/MINSA authorizes the Digemid to travel to India from September 16 to 27, 2022.
