Through Ministerial Resolution Nº 391-2022-PRODUCE, published today as an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” of November 22, 2022, an Exploratory Fishery of anchovy for indirect human consumption was authorized, starting at 00:00 a.m. on the day after the publication of the Resolution. 00 hours of the day following the publication of the resolution for a period of five (5) calendar days, in the maritime area outside the 5 miles between the northern end of the maritime domain and 15°59’59”9 S. This exploratory fishery is for larger scale vessels with a valid fishery permit for anchovy and what they catch shall be deducted from their corresponding LMCE (quota).
Likewise, at the end of the exploratory fishery, the beginning of the Second Fishery Season 2022 is authorized in the indicated area and with a Total Maximum Allowable Catch Limit (total quota) of 2’283,000 tons. The conclusion date of the second season shall be once the TAC (total quota) is reached or when recommended by IMARPE for environmental or biological reasons.
