CLOSED FISHING SEASON AND AUTHORIZATIONS

I. Extractive activity of the Hake resource carried out by trawlers is suspended between 04º40’S and 05º00’S of the Peruvian maritime domain

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 046-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 3, 2020, the extractive activity of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) carried out by trawlers is suspended between 04°40’S and 05°00’S of the Peruvian maritime domain, for a period of seven (7) calendar days, from February 4, 2020.

II. The extraction of the sawfish species in marine waters of the Peruvian jurisdiction is prohibited as well as their landing, transport, retention, processing and commercialization

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 056-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 7, 2020, the extraction of the sawfish species (Pristis pristis) in marine waters of the Peruvian jurisdiction is prohibited as well as their landing, transport, retention, processing and commercialization, from February 8, 2020.

III. Extractive activities of the Hake resource carried out by trawlers are suspended in the coastal area

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 067-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 14, 2020, the extractive activity of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) carried out by trawlers is suspended, between the northern limit of the Peruvian maritime domain and 04°00’S, from 00:00 hours on February 15, 2020, until the Institute of the Sea of ​​Peru – IMARPE recommends the restart of the extractive activity.

IV. Extractive activities for anchovy and white anchovy resource are suspended in the coastal area Through Ministerial Resolution No. 085-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 26, 2020, the extractive activities for anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resource are suspended  between 13°30’S to 14°30’S, from 0 to 10 nautical miles, for a period of ten (10) calendar days, starting at 00:00 hours on February 27, 2020.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

I. The draft publication “Supreme Decree amending the Regulations of the General Law on Fisheries approved by Supreme Decree N° 012-2001 PE; the Regulations of Legislative Decree N° 1084, Law on Maximum Limits of Catch by Vessel approved by Supreme Decree N° 021-2008-PRODUCE; and the Regulation of Fisheries Management of the Hake Resource approved by Supreme Decree N° 016-2003-PRODUCE” is set forth

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 047-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 4, 2020, the draft publication “Supreme Decree amending the Regulations of the General Law on Fisheries; the Regulation of the Law on Maximum Limits of Catch by Vessel; and the Regulation of Fisheries Management of the Hake Resource is set forth, as well as its Exhibition of Reasons in the Institutional Portal of the Ministry of Production www.gob.pe/produce, for the purpose of receiving comments and/or contributions from citizens until February 9, 2020.

II. Peruvian Technical Standards on hydrography and navigation, limes and others are approved

Through Directive Resolution No. 001-2020-INACAL/DN, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 18, 2020, the Peruvian Technical Standards are approved, based on the grounds of this resolution and in accordance with the procedure established in Law No. 30224.

III. Supreme Decree that adapts Regulations on fishing extraction and processing activities, within the framework of regulatory quality analysis

By Supreme Decree No. 004-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 28, 2020, the regulations referring to the extraction and processing activities are adjusted in the framework of regulatory quality analysis, in accordance within the framework of Legislative Decree No. 1310, Legislative Decree that approves additional administrative simplification measures.

In turn, section 18.1 of article 18 as well as articles 21, 25, 34, 37, 49, 50, 51, 52, sections 53.3 and 53.4 of article 53, articles 54, 56, 66 and 71 of the Regulation of the General Law on Fisheries approved by Supreme Decree No. 012-2001-PE, are amended.

In addition, articles 28-A, 28-B and the Fourth Final Provision are also incorporated into the Regulations of the General Law on Fisheries approved by Supreme Decree No. 012-2001-PE.

Finally, articles 16, 18 and 19 of the Regulation of Legislative Decree No. 1084, Law on Maximum Limits of Catch by Vessel approved by Supreme Decree No. 021-2008-PRODUCE, are amended.

APPOINTMENTS

I. Director of the Health and Fisheries and Aquaculture Directorate of SANIPES is appointed

Through Executive Presidency Resolution No. 008-2020-SANIPES/PE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 1, 2020, the lawyer Mercedes Govea Requena is appointed as Director from February 3, in the position of Director of the Health and Fisheries and Aquaculture Directorate of SANIPES.

II. Alternate Member of the Fisheries Collegiate Specialized Area of ​​the Sanctions Appeals Council of the Ministry of Production is appointed

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 055-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on February 7, 2020, the engineer Elizabeth Liliana Lucano Urioste is appointed as an Alternate Member of the Fisheries Collegiate Specialized Area of ​​the Sanctions Appeals Council of the Ministry of Production, in addition to the functions currently performed.
