ALERT – MIGRATIONS

The Superintendency Resolution Nº 000104-2020 published on March 20 establishes the following measures:

– Rescheduling of appointments.- Authorize the rescheduling of appointments related to the procedures to be processed by the National Superintendency of Immigration (change of immigration status, extension of residence permits, residence visas, among others) once the State of Emergency decreed by the Peruvian State (15 calendar days from March 16, 2020) has ended.

– Suspension of deadlines and regularization of immigration status.- Suspend the administrative deadlines and the overstay fine starting from the entry into force until the end of the state of emergency; and the administrative procedures for regularizing the immigration status can be initiated within a period of not less than forty-five (45) calendar days.

– Extension of deadlines.- Extend the deadlines for special permits granted to foreigners to leave the national territory, as well as to those persons who are residents and are outside the country, starting from the date of entry into force until the end of the state of emergency; provided that they have not come from the countries that temporarily closed their borders prior to the entry into force of the state of emergency.

– Extension of the temporary immigration status period.- Authorize the extension of the period of validity of the temporary or resident immigration status of the foreigner from the entry into force until the end of the state of emergency.

– Order to leave the country.- Suspend the period of execution of the order to leave the country of the foreigner, whose request for change or extension of immigration status has been rejected, from the entry into force until the end of the state of emergency.
