Through Ministerial Resolution No. 193-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 2, Ministerial Resolution No. 000123-2025-PRODUCE, which establishes the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit (LMCTP) for the initial giant squid or fugging squid resource, was amended, setting it at 304,209 tons for the period from January 1 to August 31, 2025.
Through Directorial Resolution No. 107-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA 2025, Published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 5, anchovy extraction activities were suspended for a period of five (5) calendar days starting at 9:00 p.m. on June 5, 2025 until 9:00 p.m. on June 10, 2025, in the following areas.
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 201-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 6, paragraph 1.1 of Article 1 of Ministerial Resolution No. 00164-2025-PRODUCE, which establishes the catch limit for bonito, is modified, setting it at 13,760 tons for the period from May to August 2025.
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 206-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 8, establish the reproductive ban on the «rainbow trout» resource in the high Andean water bodies of the department of Huánuco, starting the day after the Ministerial Resolution is published until August 21, prohibiting its extraction, transportation, processing, marketing and storage, with the exception of the resource or product from duly authorized aquaculture production centers.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 012-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 15, the Peruvian Marine Institute (IMARPE) is authorized to conduct biological and fisheries prospecting for deep-sea cod: (i) from the day following the publication of the resolution until June 30, 2025, in the maritime area between the northern limit of the Peruvian maritime domain and 09°00′ S; and (ii) from July 1 to December 31, 2025, in the area between the northern limit of the Peruvian maritime domain and 08°00′ S.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 221-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on June 20, the start of the second anchovy fishery season was authorized in the southern zone between 16°00′ S and the southern limit of the maritime domain, corresponding to the period July – December 2025. The established quota is 251,000 tons.
By Directorial Resolution No. 112-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website, extractive activities for the giant squid or fugging squid resource are concluded, starting at midnight on June 21, 2025.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 222-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on June 21, the extraction, transfer, and supply of scallops for aquaculture purposes was exceptionally authorized within the natural bank off the coast of the Constitutional Province of Callao, up to a maximum catch of 1000 squid. 167.22 tons of specimens larger than 25 mm and smaller than 65 mm in valve height.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 225-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on June 26, Ministerial Resolution No. 165-2025-PRODUCE, which established the catch limit for horse mackerel and mackerel for artisanal vessels for the period from May to August 2025, was modified. As a result, the catch limit for mackerel was modified to 16,650 tons.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 229-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on June 28, a Provisional Hake Fishery Regime was established for the period July 2025 – June 2026. This regime begins at 00:00 hours on July 1, 2025, and ends on June 30, 2026, in the area between the northernmost part of the maritime domain and 07°00’ South Latitude, with a quota of 10,000 tons.
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 205-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 7, the draft «Supreme Decree approving the National Fishery Policy for 2040» and its explanatory statement are published.
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 207-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 8, the «Guidelines for compliance with the obligation to report information on catches made by fishery vessels with a holding capacity of up to 32.6 m3 operating in the maritime environment» were approved. This is intended to establish measures that contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of hydrobiological resources by obtaining timely information from fishery permit holders of fishery vessels with a holding capacity of up to 32.6 cubic meters as a means of traceability of extractive activities.
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 209-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 8, the draft «Ministerial Resolution approving the Terms of Reference for investment projects with common or similar characteristics for fishery activities» was published, specifically for (i) EIA-SD for projects and/or activities for the installation and operation of Fish Processing Plants for the production of frozen, canned, and/or cured fish; (ii) EIA-SD and EIA for projects for the installation and operation of support infrastructure for artisanal fishery: Artisanal Fishery Wharves; and (iii) EIA for artisanal fisheries processing and/or primary processing projects.
Through Directorial Resolution No. 006-2025-PRODUCE/DGPARPA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 16, the «Annual Plan for Monitoring and Evaluation of Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Regulations, Plans, and Guidelines 2025» was approved. This plan establishes the annual schedule for fisheries and aquaculture management regulations, plans, and guidelines that require monitoring and evaluation of their implementation during the 2025 period.
By Directorial Resolution No. 497-2025-PRODUCE/DGPCHDI, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on June 23, the list of maximum catch limits per vessel for the second anchovy fishery season in the southern zone was approved.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 218-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on June 20, Mr. Heberton López Dávila was appointed Director of the Artisanal Fisheries Promotion and Formalization Directorate of the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
By Executive Presidential Resolution No. 106-2025-IMARPE/PE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on June 21, Mr. Piero Rafael Villegas Apaza was appointed Director General of IMARPE’s General Directorate of Aquaculture Research.
