I. THE FIRST ANCHOVY FISHERY SEASON FOR 2024 IN THE SOUTHERN ZONE WAS AUTHORIZED TO START IN 2024
By Ministerial Resolution N° 059-2024-PRODUCE, published on March 2, 2024 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the beginning of the anchovety fishing season in the southern zone between 16°00’LS and the southern end of the maritime domain during the first semester of 2024 was authorized.
The beginning of the extractive activity is effective from 00.00 hours of the third working day counted from the day after the resolution is published, until the quota runs out or, failing that, until June 30, 2024. The Total Maximum Allowable Catch Limit (quota) for indirect human consumption is 251,000 tons.
II. HAMMERHEAD SHARK QUOTA ESTABLISHED FOR 2024
By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 065-2024-PRODUCE, published on March 6, 2024 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the catch limit (quota) of hammerhead shark resource for 2024 was established at 490 tons.
III. MODIFICATION OF FISHERY MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS FOR DEEP SEA COD
By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 070-2024-PRODUCE, published on March 20, 2024 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the Fishery Management Regulation for deep sea cod approved by Ministerial Resolution N° 236-2001-PE, was modified in order to incorporate the obligation for fishery vessels with fishing permits for this resource to have satellite equipment in accordance with the current regulations.
IV. IMARPE IS AUTHORIZED TO CARRY OUT OPERATION DEEP SEA COD III
By Ministerial Resolution N° 085-2024-PRODUCE, published on March 27, 2024 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, IMARPE was authorized to carry out the research activity called “Operation Deep Sea Cod III” in the maritime area and in the period between April 1 and May 31, 2024. This operation will be carried out with the participation of 6 small-scale vessels with fishery permits in force for this resource.
V. THEY ESTABLISH THE CATCH LIMIT FOR FAN SHELL
By Ministerial Resolution N° 085-2024-PRODUCE, published on March 28, 2024 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the prohibition of extraction of fan shell in the natural banks of the Callao Region was lifted and the catch limit for 2024 was established at 74 tons of specimens greater than 65 mm of valvar height.

By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 078-2024-SANIPES/PE published in the official gazette “El Peruano” on March 22, Mrs. María Isabel Jhong Guerrero was appointed as Advisor II in the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Production.
II. APPOINTMENT OF GENERAL DIRECTOR OF ARTISANAL FISHERY
By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 082-2024-SANIPES/PE published in the official gazette “El Peruano” on March 52, Mr. David Humberto Mendoza Ramírez was appointed as General Director of the General Directorate of Artisanal Fishing of the Vice Ministerial Office of Fishing and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
