COMPLEMENTARY BONITO CATCH QUOTA ESTABLISHED FOR ARTISANAL VESSELS

Through Ministerial Resolution N° 477-2024-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on December 3, a complementary catch quota of bonito was established in addition to the one approved in Ministerial Resolution N° 026-2024-PRODUCE, at 10,500 tons to be extracted until December 31, 2024.

ANCHOVY EXTRACTIVE ACTIVITY SUSPENDED IN FISHERY ZONE

By means of Directorial Resolution N° 152-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on December 6, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of five (5) calendar days, starting at 02:00 hours on December 7, 2024 until 02:00 hours on December 12, 2024, in the following areas:

  • From 09°30’S – 10°00’S, between 10 and 30 nautical miles (mn)
  • From 10°00’S – 11°15’S, between 10 and 20 nautical miles (mn)
  • From 12°30’S – 14°30’S, between 10 and 40 nautical miles (nm)
  • From 13°30’S – 14°30’S, between 05 and 20 nautical miles (nm)

ANCHOVY FISHERY ACTIVITY SUSPENDED IN FISHERY ZONE

Through Directorial Resolution N° 153-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on December 7, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of five (5) calendar days, from 01:00 hours on December 8, 2024 until 01:00 hours on December 13, 2024, in the following areas:

  • From 08°30’S – 09°15’S, between 10 and 40 nautical miles (nm).

EXTRACTIVE ACTIVITIES OF JACK MACKEREL WITH ARTISANAL FISHERY VESSELS ARE TERMINATED

By means of Directorial Resolution N° 154-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on December 11 in the website of the Ministry of Production Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the extractive activities of jack mackerel carried out by artisanal vessels using curtain net or “pinta” as fishery gear were terminated, as of 00.00 hours on December 11.

ANCHOVY EXTRACTIVE ACTIVITY SUSPENDED IN FISHERY ZONE

By means of Directorial Resolution N° 160-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published in the Ministry of Production’s website on December 14, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of five (5) calendar days, from 20:00 hours on December 14, 2024 until 20:00 hours on December 19, 2024, in the following area:

  • From 10°00’S – 10°30’S, between 10 and 20 nautical miles (mn)
  • From 12°45’S – 13°30’S, between 20 and 30 nautical miles (mn)

By Directorial Resolution No. 163-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on December 17, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of five (5) calendar days, from 21:00 hours on December 17, 2024 until 21:00 hours on December 22, 2024, in the following area:

  • From 08°15’S – 08°45’S, between 30 and 40 nautical miles (nm).
  • From 10°30’S – 11°00’S, between 20 and 30 nautical miles (nm)

RIVER SHRIMP FISHERY SEASON EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 2ND

By Ministerial Resolution N° 491-2024-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 18, it was exceptionally established that the river shrimp fishery season in the public water bodies of the western slope of the Andes will be extended until January 2, 2025.

By Directorial Resolution N° 169-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on December 22, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of ten (10) calendar days, from 01:00 hours on December 23, 2024 until 01:00 hours on January 02, 2025, in the following area:

  • From 08°30’S – 09°30’S, between 05 and 30 nautical miles (nm).
  • From 10°15’S – 11°00’S, between 05 and 20 nautical miles (mn)
  • From 12°45’S – 13°30’S, between 05 and 30 nautical miles (nm)

By Directorial Resolution N° 170-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the website of the Ministry of Production on December 23, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of ten (10) calendar days, from 23:00 hours on December 23, 2024 until 23:00 hours on January 02, 2025, in the following area:

  • From 09°30’S – 10°00’S, between 05 and 30 nautical miles (nm).
  • From 12°00’S – 12°45’S, between 05 and 30 nautical miles (mn)

IMARPE IS AUTHORIZED TO CARRY OUT AN EXPLORATORY FISHERY FOR FAN SHELLS IN CALLAO

By Ministerial Resolution N° 500-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 28th in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, IMARPE was authorized to carry out an exploratory fishery of the fan shell resource for a period of 5 calendar days, with the participation of artisanal vessels.

CATCH LIMITS OF JACK MACKEREL AND MACKEREL FOR ARTISANAL VESSELS FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY TO APRIL 2025 WERE ESTABLISHED

By Ministerial Resolution N° 508-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29th in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the catch limits of jack mackerel for artisanal vessels were established at 41,275 tons and mackerel for artisanal vessels at 22,659 tons, for the period January to April 2025.

CATCH LIMITS FOR BONITO FOR ARTISANAL VESSELS ARE ESTABLISHED FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY TO APRIL 2025

By Ministerial Resolution N° 510-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29th in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the bonito catch limits for artisanal vessels were established at 38,307 tons, for the period January to April 2025.

THE TOTAL MAXIMUM CATCH LIMIT OF ANCHOVY FOR DIRECT HUMAN CONSUMPTION IS ADVANCED

By Ministerial Resolution N° 513-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29th in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, established the advance of the Total Maximum Catch Limit of anchovy for direct human consumption, for the period January 1st to July 31st, 2025 in 75,000 tons.

CATCH LIMIT FOR DEEP SEA COD ESTABLISHED FOR 2025

Through Ministerial Resolution N° 514-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29th in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the catch limit for deep sea cod was established at 187 tons for the year 2025.

THE FIRST ANCHOVY FISHERY SEASON IN THE SOUTHERN ZONE IS AUTHORIZED TO START IN 2025

Ministerial Resolution N° 515-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, authorized the start of the first anchovy fishery season in the southern zone, between the 16°00’LS parallel and the southern end of the maritime domain for the first half of 2025. The start of the fishery activity is effective as of 00.00 hours of the third working day counted from the day after the resolution was published and with a quota of 251,000 tons.

PROVISIONAL EEL EXTRACTION REGIME ESTABLISHED

Through Ministerial Resolution N° 516-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, a provisional extraction regime for the eel resource was established for 2025 and with a quota of 5,685 tons.

CATCH LIMITS FOR JACK MACKEREL AND MACKEREL FOR LARGER SCALE VESSELS FOR THE YEAR 2025 WERE ESTABLISHED

By Ministerial Resolution N° 517-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 29 in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, the catch limit for jack mackerel and mackerel resources for larger scale vessels was established for 2025 at 80,948 tons and 27,104 tons, respectively.

ANCHOVY HARVESTING ACTIVITY SUSPENDED IN FISHERY ZONE

By Directorial Resolution N° 173-2024-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on December 30, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of fifteen (15) calendar days, starting at 19:00 hours on December 30, 2024 until 19:00 hours on January 14, 2025, in the following area:

  • From 07°30’S – 08°00’S, between 05 and 30 nautical miles (nm).

GENERAL REGULATIONS

THE REGULATION OF FISHERY MANAGEMENT OF THE EEL RESOURCE IS APPROVED

Supreme Decree N° 018-2024-PRODUCE, published on December 4th in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, ordered the publication of the “Regulations for the Management of Eel Resources” (Ophichthus remiger) which consists of 25 articles, 1 Complementary Transitory Provision and 1 Annex.

THE REGULATIONS OF THE FISHERY SUB-SECTOR ARE DEVELOPED FOR THE APPLICATION OF THE EXCEPTIONS ESTABLISHED IN THE SECOND PARAGRAPH OF ARTICLE 308-B OF THE PENAL CODE

By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 486-2024-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 14, a series of criteria were developed to be verified by the sanctioning authority in fishery matters and those in the Regional Governments, for the application of the exceptions established in the second paragraph of Article 308-B of the Penal Code.

RESOLUTION APPROVING STANDARD FOR THE PREPARATION AND EXECUTION OF STABILITY TESTS ON NATIONAL VESSELS IS AMENDED

By means of Directorial Resolution N° 1009-2024-MGP/DICAPI, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 14, it was approved to modify the paragraph b of Article 8 and the title of Article 9 of Annex “A” of the Directorial Resolution N° 900-2023/MGP/DICAPI that approves the Standard for the execution and preparation of stability tests on national vessels.

PERUVIAN TECHNICAL STANDARDS FOR CANNED FISH IN VERSION 2024 APPROVED

By means of Directorial Resolution N° 029-2024-INACAL/DN, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 16, version 2024 of the Peruvian Technical Standard for Canned Fish NTP 204-002-2011 was approved.

NUMERAL INCORPORATED IN THE GUIDELINES TO DETERMINE THE ANNUAL QUOTA OF ANCHOVY FOR DIRECT HUMAN CONSUMPTION IN THE NORTH-CENTRAL ZONE

By Ministerial Resolution No. 496-2024-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 21, paragraph 7.4 was incorporated to section VII of the Guidelines for the determination of the annual quota of anchovy for direct human consumption in the north-central zone, approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 306-2020-PRODUCE.

APPROVAL OF THE MASTER PLAN FOR NATURAL PROTECTED AREAS

By means of Supreme Decree N° 016-2024-MINAM, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 28, the Master Plan for Natural Protected Areas was published in the websites of the Ministry of Environment and the National Service of Natural Protected Areas.

COMPLEMENTARY STANDARDS FOR THE APPLICATION OF THE EXCEPTIONAL REGIME FOR THE REDUCTION OF FINES ARE APPROVED

 By means of Supreme Decree N° 020-2024-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 31, complementary temporary rules were approved for the application of the exceptional regime of reduction of fines for infractions committed before 2021 and that have not been subject to fractionation or other reduction benefits. The benefit is a reduction of 80% of the fine and the term of acceptance is 30 calendar days from the expiration of a period of 7 calendar days from the day following the publication of this decree.

DEADLINE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE SECTORIAL SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR FISHERY AND AQUACULTURE ACTIVITIES IS MODIFIED

Supreme Decree N° 021-2024-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 31, amended Article 1 of Supreme Decree N° 002-2024-PRODUCE, which established the deadline for compliance with the provisions of the Sectorial Regulation on Safety for Fishing and Aquaculture Activities approved by Supreme Decree N° 020-2022-PRODUCE. The new adaptation period is until August 30, 2025.

APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR OF SURVEILLANCE AND CONTROL

By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 483-2024-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on December 13, Ms. Angella Ivonne Guzmán Alejos was appointed as Director of the Surveillance and Control Directorate of the General Directorate of Supervision, Inspection and Sanction of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
