By Directorial Resolution No. 086-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published on the website of the Ministry of Production on May 5, 2025, hake extractive activities were suspended for a period of seven (7) calendar days counted from 22:00 hours on May 5, 2025 until 22:00 hours on May 12, 2025, in the following area.
By means of Directorial Resolution N° 088-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published in the website of the Ministry of Production on May 7, 2025, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of ten (10) calendar days from 23:00 hours on May 7, 2025 until 23:00 hours on May 17, 2025, in the following areas.
Through Ministerial Resolution N° 174-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on May 14, IMARPE was authorized to carry out Operation Anguilla IV, for a period of seven (7) calendar days and in the area between 03°24’S and 06°30’S.
It will involve the participation of two small-scale vessels with valid fishery permits for the extraction of the eel resource.
Ministerial Resolution No. 176-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on May 16 authorized the extractive activity of fan conch up to a total of 322.7 tons greater than 25 mm and less than 65 mm in valvar height: The area is Lobos de Tierra Island within the National Reserve System of Islands, Islets and Punta Guaneras and for supplying aquaculture concessions.
By means of Directorial Resolution N° 092-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published on the Ministry of Production’s website on May 17, 2025, anchovy extractive activities were suspended for a period of ten (10) calendar days from 23:00 hours on May 17, 2025 until 23:00 hours on May 27, 2025, in the following areas.
By means of Directorial Resolution N° 095-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published on the website of the Ministry of Production on May 20, 2025, the extractive activities of fan shell in the framework of Ministerial Resolution N° 074-2025-PRODUCE were terminated as of 00:00 hours of May 20, 2025.
Through Ministerial Resolution N° 00180-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on May 23, they modify the Ministerial Resolution N° 000123-2025-PRODUCE that establishes the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit (MCTL) for the giant squid or squid resource, setting it at 290,000 tons for the period from January 1 to August 31, 2025.
Through Ministerial Resolution N° 00181-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on May 23, the Maximum Allowable Total Catch Limit (LMCTP) of the sea urchin resource for the year 2025 in the area of the National Reserve System of Islands, Islets and Guaneras Points – Punta Coles (RNSIIPG – Punta Coles), located in the province of Ilo, department of Moquegua, was established at 37 tons.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 00182-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 23, the maximum allowable catch quota for octopus resources was established for the year 2025 along the coast of Piura and Lambayeque at 708.75 tons, which will not expire on December 31, 2025. This quota does not include the Lobos de Afuera and Lobos de Tierra Islands, areas of the National Reserve System of Islands, Islets and Guano Points, for which a quota of 21.25 tons has been set, which will not expire on September 30, 2025.
Ministerial Resolution No. 00183-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 23, established the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit (MTL) for mussels for 2025, corresponding to the maritime areas adjacent to the departments of Moquegua and Tacna. For Moquegua, it was set at 272.2 tons, which does not include Punta Coles, which is located within the National Reserve System of Islands, Islets, and Guano Points. For Tacna, it was set at 332 tons.
By Directorial Resolution No. 00100-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published on the Ministry of Production’s website on May 24, 2025, extractive activities for bonito resource carried out with artisanal fishery vessels using purse seines with a hold capacity of less than 10 m3 were suspended, starting at 00:00 hours on May 27, 2025.
By Directorial Resolution No. 00102-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA published on the Ministry of Production’s website on May 27, 2025. of the hammerhead shark resource, starting at 00:00 hours on May 29, 2025.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 000187-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 30, the degree of exploitation of the deep-fish resource was established as a fully exploited hydrobiological resource.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 000191-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 30, Annex I of Ministerial Resolution No. 209-2001-PE was amended, approving the list of minimum catch sizes and maximum tolerance for juvenile specimens of major marine fish and invertebrates, regarding the cabrilla resource.
By Ministerial Resolution 169-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 8, the «Protocol for the permanent verification of compliance with the obligations arising from the granting of fishery permits to operate foreign-flagged tuna fishery vessels and the registration of charter contracts for national-flagged tuna vessels» was approved within the framework of the Tuna Regulation (ROP), approved by Supreme Decree No. 032-2003-PRODUCE and Supreme Decree No. 009-2016-PRODUCE, which establish measures to strengthen the fishery industry in the processing of tuna resources.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 171-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on May 8, various sections of Annex 2 “Minimum Technical Specifications to Be a Qualified Satellite Provider” of the Regulations for the Satellite Tracking System for Fishery Vessels (SISESAT), approved by Supreme Decree No. 001-2014-PRODUCE, were amended.
By Supreme Decree No. 007-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 9, the regulations of Law No. 30063, the Law Creating the National Fisheries Health Agency (SANIPES), approved by Supreme Decree No. 010-2019-PRODUCE, were amended to bring it into compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 1672.
Through Law No. 32326, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 9, various provisions of Legislative Decree No. 1373, which approved the Legislative Decree on forfeiture of domain, were amended.
Through Supreme Decree No. 008-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 13, the Fisheries Management Regulation for Benthic Marine Invertebrate Resources, approved by Supreme Decree No. 018-2021-PRODUCE, was amended to facilitate the Extraction Plan process for these types of resources.
Through Law No. 32341, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 22, the National Fisheries Development Fund (FONDEPES) was authorized to restructure loans granted to artisanal fishermen and aquaculture farmers through December 31, 2023, who, due to the weather emergency, have defaulted or have outstanding installments.
By Supreme Decree No. 009-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 23, the Regulations of the General Aquaculture Law, approved by Supreme Decree No. 003-2016-PRODUCE, and the Regulations for the Inspection and Sanction of Fishery and Aquaculture Activities, approved by Supreme Decree No. 017-2017-PRODUCE, were amended to update the regulations for violations in aquaculture activities.
By Ministerial Resolution No. 000189-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano» on May 30, Mr. Jaime Antonio de la Torre Obregón was appointed Director of the Directorate of Extraction for Direct and Indirect Human Consumption of the General Directorate of Fishery for Direct and Indirect Human Consumption.
