By Ministerial Resolution Nº042-2023-PRODUCE, published today February 3, 2023 in the extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” of the previous day, the catch limits (quota) for the horse mackerel (Trauchurus murphyi) and mackerel (Scomber japonicus peruanicus) resources, applicable to the industrial fleet and the artisanal fleet were established for the entire 2023.
For the industrial fleet, the applicable jack mackerel quota shall be 65,000 tons and the mackerel quota shall be 20,400 tons. For the artisanal fleet, the applicable jack mackerel quota shall be 72,500 tons and the mackerel quota shall be 27,700 tons.
The established quotas may be modified according to biological-fishing and/or environmental factors estimated by the Institute of the Sea of Peru- IMARPE, for which it shall send the Ministry of Production the recommendation for the corresponding measures.”
