ALERT - FISHERY

“First industrial anchovy fishery season 2022 is authorized to start in the northern zone with a quota of 2,792,000 tons and exploratory fishery authorized from May 4th”

 

By Ministerial Resolution Nº 167-2022-PRODUCE, published in an extraordinary edition of April 30, 2022, the start of the first industrial anchovy fishery season (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) was authorized for indirect human consumption, in the northern zone between the northern end of the maritime domain and 16°00′ SL and with a Total Maximum Allowable Catch Limit (quota) of 2,792,000 tons. The beginning of this season starts from the date of completion of the exploratory fishery described in the following paragraph.

Likewise, an exploratory fishery shall begin at 00:00 hours on May 4, 2022 and for a period of 15 calendar days, in the maritime area outside 5 miles from the coastline and only between the northern end of the maritime domain and 06°00′ S and between 10°59′ S and 16°00′ S. The volume caught during this exploratory fishery shall be discounted to each participating vessel from the maximum catch limit assigned to them according to their maximum catch percentage.
