By Ministerial Resolution Nº 380-2021-PRODUCE, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on November 13, 2021, the start of the second fishery season of the anchovy resource (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa Nasus) was authorized.
In the area between the northern end of the maritime domain and 12°00′ SL, fishery starts from 00.00 hours on November 22, 2021. In the area between 12°00′ SL and 16°00′ SL, the starting date is conditioned to the Peruvian Sea Institute – IMARPE reporting the results of an Exploratory Fishery.
In a First Complementary Transitory Provision, IMARPE is authorized to carry out an Exploratory Fishery in the area between the northern end of the maritime domain and 16°00′ SL, from 00.00 hours on November 15, 2021 for 7 consecutive calendar days. This Exploratory Fishery shall have the participation of all the larger scale fishery vessels with a valid permit for the mentioned resource. The volume of fish of the mentioned resource in this Exploratory Fishery shall be discounted from each vessel of its corresponding Maximum Catch Limit per Vessel – LMCE (quota).
The Total Maximum Allowable Catch Limit (quota) is 2,047,000 tons.
