COVID-19

CLOSED FISHING SEASON AND AUTHORIZATIONS

I. Catch quota for the tuna resource is amended and various provisions are ordered

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 126-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 7, 2020, the first paragraph of section 1.1 of article 1 of Ministerial Resolution No. 002-2020-PRODUCE is amended to read as follows:

“Article 1.- Establishment of the catch limit for the tuna resource”

1.1 To establish the catch limit for the tuna resource (Sarda chiliensis chiliensis) for the period 2020, at seventy-six thousand (76,000) tons, applicable to extractive activities carried out by trawlers and those vessels whose administrative law authorizes it. (…) ”.

II. Catch limits for the smooth hammerhead resource are established for the period 2020

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 127-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette, “El Peruano”, on April 14, 2020, the catch limit for the smooth hammerhead resource (Sphyrna zygaena) is established at four hundred fifty-three (453) tons for the period 2020.

III. Granting of subsidies is authorized in favor of various Executing Entities (private legal entities) that carry out Subprojects for Innovation in Fisheries and Aquaculture derived from the PNIPA Competitions 2017-2018 and 2018-2019

Through Board Resolution No. 008-2020-PNIPA-DE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 15, 2020, the granting of subsidies is authorized in favor of the Executing Entities (private legal entities) that carry out Subprojects of Innovation in Fisheries and Aquaculture derived from the PNIPA Contest 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 in the categories of: Applied Research and Technological Development (SIADE), Adaptive Research (SIA), Extension Service (SEREX), and Strengthening of Capabilities in Services of I+D+i (SFOCA), in Fisheries and Aquaculture, respectively, up to the sum of S/.1,187,191.38 (One million one hundred eighty-seven thousand one hundred ninety-one with 38/100 soles).

 IV. Granting of subsidies is authorized in favor of various Executing Entities (private legal entities) that carry out Subprojects of Innovation in Fisheries and Aquaculture derived from the PNIPA Competitions 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 Through Board Resolution No. 009-2020-PNIPA-DE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 15, 2020, the granting of subsidies is authorized in favor of the Executing Entities (private legal entities), which will implement the Subprojects awarded for innovation, within the framework of the PNIPA Contest 2018-2019, (4th Window), in the categories of: Extension Service (SEREX), and Strengthening of Capabilities in Services of I+D+i (SFOCA), in Aquaculture, respectively, up to the sum of S/.3,176,575.69 (Three million one hundred and seventy-six thousand five hundred seventy-five with 69/100 soles).

V. Granting of subsidies is authorized in favor of various Executing Entities (private legal entities) that carry out Subprojects for Innovation in Fisheries and Aquaculture derived from the PNIPA Competitions 2017-2018 and 2018-2019

Through Board Resolution No. 010-2020-PNIPA-DE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 15, 2020, the granting of subsidies is authorized in favor of the Executing Entities (private legal entities) that carry out Subprojects of Innovation in Fisheries and Aquaculture derived from the PNIPA Contest 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 in the categories of: Applied Research and Technological Development (SIADE), Adaptive Research (SIA), Extension Service (SEREX), and Strengthening of Capabilities in Services of I+D+i (SFOCA), in Fisheries and Aquaculture, respectively, up to the sum of S/.2,370,177.53 (Two million three hundred seventy thousand one hundred seventy-seven with 53/100 soles).

VI. Extractive activities for Hake resource carried out by trawlers in Peruvian maritime zone are suspended

Through Board Resolution No. 131-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 24, 2020, the extractive activity of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) carried out by trawlers is suspended, between 04°40’S and 05°00’S of the Peruvian maritime zone, for a period of seven (7) calendar days, from 00:00 hours on April 25, 2020.

VII. The suspension of the extractive activity of the hake resource, established by R.M. N ° 067-2020-PRODUCE, is terminated

Though Ministerial Resolution No. 133-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette  “El Peruano”, on April 30, 2020, the suspension of the extractive activity of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) established by Ministerial Resolution No.  067-2020-PRODUCE is terminated. The restart of the extractive activity of the aforementioned resource carried out by trawlers, between the northern limit of the Peruvian maritime zone and 04°00’S, from 00:00 hours on May 1, 2020, is authorized.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

I. “Guide for the establishment, implementation and strengthening of preventive measures in fisheries and aquaculture infrastructures against the spread of COVID-19” is approved

Through Executive Presidency Resolution No. 027-2020-SANIPES-PE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 7, 2020, the document called “Guide for the establishment, implementation and strengthening of preventive measures in fisheries and aquaculture infrastructures against the spread of COVID-19” is approved.

II. Supreme Decree establishing measures to guarantee the continuity of aquaculture development by holders of authorizations for restocking in marine ecosystems

By Supreme Decree No. 008-2020-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on April 24, 2020, measures are established to guarantee the continuity of aquaculture development by holders of authorizations for restocking in marine ecosystems, granted under Law No. 27460, Act on the Promotion and Development of Aquaculture and its Regulations, approved by Supreme Decree No. 030-2001-PE, in order to adapt them to the productive categories established in Legislative Decree No. 1195, Legislative Decree that approves the General Aquaculture Act and its Regulations, approved by Supreme Decree No. 003-2016-PRODUCE.
