CLOSED FISHING SEASON AND AUTHORIZATIONS

I. Conservation measures applicable to the tuna fishery are established in compliance with the Resolutions of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission – IATTC 

By Ministerial Resolution Nº 206-2021-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on July 22, 2021, conservation measures applicable to the tuna fishery are established in compliance with the IATTC resolutions and in relation to suspension periods, prohibition of extraction, catch limits and other measures applicable to national fishery vessels registered in the IATTC.

 II. Adoption of the Fishery Management Regulation – ROP of the Perico resource

By Supreme Decree Nº 017-2021-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on July 23, 2021, the fishery management regulation of the Perico resource (Coryphaena hippurus) is adopted and the Regulations of the General Fisheries Law adopted by Supreme Decree Nº 012-2001-PE and amending regulations, as well as the Table of Sanctions of the Regulation of Control and Sanctions of Fishery and Aquaculture Activities adopted by Supreme Decree Nº 017-2017-PRODUCE.

III. Adoption of the Fishery Management Regulation – ROP of Benthic Marine Invertebrate Resources

By Supreme Decree Nº 018-2021-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on July 23, 2021, the Fishery Management Regulation of Benthic Marine Invertebrate Resources is adopted, and the Regulations of the General Fisheries Law adopted by Supreme Decree Nº 012-2001-PE and amending regulations are amended, as well as the Table of Sanctions of the Regulation of Control and Sanctions of Fishery and Aquaculture Activities adopted by Supreme Decree Nº 017-2017-PRODUCE. 

GENERAL REGULATIONS

I. Adoption of the Regulations for the Use of the Certification Trademark called “CENTRO CLASIFICADO / PERU / SANIPES”

By Resolution of the Executive Presidency Nº 035-2021-SANIPES/PE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on July 10, 2021, the Regulations for Use of the Certification Trademark “CENTRO CLASIFICADO / PERU / SANIPES”, proposed by the Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Supervision and Inspection for SANIPES to be attached as an annex to the application for registration of the trademark before the Directorate of Distinctive Signs of INDECOPI, is adopted.

II. Adoption of the Directive “Guidelines for the formulation of the Regional Aquaculture Plans by the Regional Governments”

By Ministerial Resolution Nº 188-2021-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on July 15, 2021, these regional plans are adopted to update the previous guidelines dating from 2012 to align them with the current regulations. This publication repeals Ministerial Resolution Nº 226-2012-PRODUCE.

III. Adoption of Directive for the handling of complaints for alleged acts of corruption and the provision of protection measures for the complainant at the Ministry of Production

Ministerial Resolution Nº 199-2021-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on July 19, 2021, adopts Directive Nº 003-2021-PRODUCE for the handling of complaints for alleged acts of corruption, as well as the due protection of the complainants when they go to the Ministry of Production. 

IV. Adoption of the Regulation of criteria for determining rates for the services provided by the Artisanal Fisheries Infrastructures (IPAs)

By Ministerial Resolution Nº208-2021.PRODUCE published on July 22, 2021, the criteria for determining the rates for the services provided by the Artisanal Fisheries Infrastructures were adopted. The administrators of the IPA’s have 4 months to submit their rate proposals, under grounds for termination of the agreement signed in case of non-compliance. 

V. General provisions for the strengthening of artisanal fishery in the productive chains are established

Supreme Decree Nº 016-2021-PRODUCE published on July 23, 2021, establishes several provisions aimed at strengthening artisanal fishery in the productive chains.

VI. Sectoral Working Group for the articulation and interconnection of the information systems of the value chain of the fishery activity is created

By Ministerial Resolution Nº 217-2021-PRODUCE published on July 24, 2021, this temporary working group is created for the articulation and interconnection of the information systems of the value chain of the fishery activity. This group is composed of various officials from the fisheries sector and is chaired by the Vice-Minister of Fisheries, with the Technical Secretariat in charge of the General Directorate of Supervision, Inspection and Sanction of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
