HAKE REPRODUCTIVE BAN ESTABLISHED
Through Ministerial Resolution N° 106-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on March 6, a reproductive closure of the hake resource was established in the area between 04°00’S and 05°00’S, for a period of 30 calendar days from 00:00 of the day following the publication of the resolution. Processing is allowed up to 48 hours after the closure comes into effect. The commercialization, transport and storage of the resource is allowed, as long as it is demonstrated with certain documentation that it was extracted before the beginning of the closure.
MAXIMUM TOTAL CATCH LIMIT FOR GIANT SQUID OR SQUID FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2025 ESTABLISHED
By Ministerial Resolution N° 123-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on March 22, the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit (quota) was set at 190,000 metric tons (MT), for the period between January 1 and June 30, 2025.
HAKE FISHERY TEMPORARILY AUTHORIZED IN COASTAL ZONE
By means of Ministerial Resolution N° 129-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on March 27, hake fishery activities in the maritime area between 04°00’S and 05°00’S were temporarily authorized for a period of five calendar days in order to gather the necessary information to update the reproductive indicators.
MODIFICATION OF THE FORMAT FOR REGISTRATION IN THE SINGLE REGISTRY OF FISHERY VESSELS THAT CARRY OUT FISHERY ON THE HIGH SEAS
By means of Directorial Resolution N° 001-2025-PRODUCE/DGPARPA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on March 24, the Registration Format for the Single Registry of Fishery Vessels that carry out fishery activities in the high sea area was modified and the “Flow of the application process for the registration of fishery vessels in the registry of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organization (SPRFMO)” was formalized.
APPOINTMENT OF THE ADVISOR II OF THE MINISTERIAL OFFICE
By Ministerial Resolution N° 096-2025-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on March 3, Mr. Hildebrando Ivan Hidalgo Romero was appointed as Advisor II of the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Production.
