CLOSED FISHING SEASON AND AUTHORIZATIONS

I. Reproductive closure of the bonito resource on the Peruvian coast was established

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 00379-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 7, 2020, the reproductive closure of the bonito resource (Sarda chiliensis chiliensis) on the Peruvian coast was established from 00:00: 00 hours from November 9 to 27 of the current year; being prohibited any extractive activity involving this species, as well as its processing, transport, commercialization and/or storage; unless there is undoubted documentation and of certain date showing that the referred resource has been extracted before the date of prohibition.

II. Extractive activity of the Hake resource carried out by trawlers was suspended in the area of the Peruvian maritime domain and several provisions were dictated

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 382-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 08, 2020, the extractive activity of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) carried out by trawlers, between 04°40’S and 05°00’S, was suspended for a period of seven (7) calendar days, starting at 00:00 hours on November 09, 2020. It is excepted of the present suspension, to the artisan fleet participating in the Exploratory Fishery of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) authorized by Ministerial Resolution No. 317-2019-PRODUCE, modified by Ministerial Resolution No. 204-2020-PRODUCE, which is subject to the monitoring and pursuit of the biological, population and fishery indicators carried out by the Institute of the Sea of Peru – IMARPE within the framework of this research.

III. The start of the Second Season of Fishery 2020 of the anchovy and white anchovy resource was authorized in the maritime area between the northern end of the maritime domain of Peru and 16°00’SL, and various provisions were dictated

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 383-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 8, 2020, the start of the Second Season of Fishery 2020 of the anchovy resource (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus), was authorized in the maritime area between the northern end of the maritime domain of Peru and 16°00’SL, from November 12 of the current year, being the date of completion once the authorized Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit of the North-Central Zone (LMTCP North-Central) has been reached, or failing that, when the Institute of the Sea of Peru – IMARPE recommends it for environmental or biological circumstances. The Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit of the North-Central Zone, corresponding to the Second Season of Fishery 2020 of the North-Central Zone, is two million seven hundred and eighty thousand (2’780,000) tons. Only fishing vessels registered and authorized to develop extractive activities during the current fishery season may carry out fishery activities within the framework of this Ministerial Resolution, in accordance with the Maximum Catch Limit per Vessel in the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit of the North-Central Zone (LMTCP North-Central), which shall be published by Board Resolution.

IV. Anchovy and white anchovy extraction activities in the maritime domain area were suspended

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 393-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 25, 2020, the extraction activities of the anchovy resource (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) were suspended from 00:00 hours of November 26, 2020, for a period of ten (10) calendar days, in the maritime area between 11°30’SL and 13°00’SL, from 05 to 50 nautical miles from the coast. The referred suspension is applicable to the extractive activity carried out by fishery vessels operating within the framework of the Ministerial Resolution N° 00383-2020-PRODUCE.

V. Extractive activity of the Hake resource carried out by trawlers were suspended in the maritime domain area

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 394-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 25, 2020, the extractive activities of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) carried out by trawlers, between 04°40’S and 05°20’S, were suspended for a period of seven (7) calendar days, starting at 00:00 hours on November 26, 2020. It is excepted of the present suspension, to the artisan fleet participating in the Exploratory Fishery of the Hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) authorized by Ministerial Resolution No. 317-2019-PRODUCE, modified by Ministerial Resolution No. 204-2020-PRODUCE, which is subject to the monitoring and pursuit of the biological, population and fishery indicators carried out by the Institute of the Sea of Peru – IMARPE within the framework of this research.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

I. “Regulations of Health, Fishing and Aquaculture Infringements and Sanctions of the National Agency for Fisheries Health (SANIPES)” were adopted

Through Resolution of the Executive Presidency No. 075-2020-SANIPES/PE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 24, 2020, the Regulations of Health, Fishing and Aquaculture Infringements and Sanctions of the National Agency for Fisheries Health (SANIPES) were adopted, which is made up of six (06) Titles and thirty-seven (37) Articles. The Regulations come into force within a period of thirty (30) working days, from November 25, 2020. Likewise, the Directorate of Sanctions of the National Agency for Fisheries Health (SANIPES) by means of a Board Resolution adopts the applicable guidelines for the registration and publication of the information in the Registry of Infringements and Sanctions, within a period of thirty (30) working days, counted from November 25, 2020.

II. Peruvian Technical Standards in its 2020 version regarding plaster, fishmeal, wool, fabrics, jute and others were adopted

Through Board Resolution No. 031-2020-INACAL/DN published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 26, 2020, the Peruvian Technical Standards in its 2020 version were adopted, as stated in Article 1 of the aforementioned resolution. As regards fishmeal, the “NTP No. 204.029:1985 (revised in 2020) FISHMEAL” is adopted. Determination of particle size. Manual screening”.

APPOINTMENTS

I. General Director of the General Board of Aquaculture was appointed

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 00387-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 15, 2020, Mr. David Humberto Mendoza Ramirez was appointed as General Director of the General Board of Aquaculture of the Vice Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.

II. Vice-Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture was appointed

Through Supreme Resolution No. 010-2020-PRODUCE published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, on November 25, 2020, Mrs. Úrsula Desilú León Chempén was appointed as Vice Minister of Fishery and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
