November 14, 15 and 16 are declared non-working days in Metropolitan Lima and Callao due to APEC

Supreme Decree N°110-2024-PCM was published today, declaring November 14, 15 and 16, 2024 as non-working days for public and private sector workers in Metropolitan Lima and Callao, due to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

Recovery of hours in the private sector: The hours lost are recovered by agreement between the employer and the workers. In the absence of agreement, the employer decides.

Exception: Companies that provide the following services are empowered to determine the jobs and workers who continue to work, in order to ensure the provision of services to the community:

  • Sanitation and health services.
  • Cleaning and sanitation.
  • Electricity.
  • Water and sewage.
  • Gas and fuel.
  • Burials.
  • Communications and telecommunications.
  • Transport, ports and airports.
  • Security, custody and surveillance.
  • Transfer of valuables.
  • Food and groceries.

Tax purposes: Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15, 2024 are considered business days for tax purposes.
