Five electricity transmission projects are incorporated to the private investment promotion process under the Public-Private Partnership modality

Resolution Nº 049-2023/DPP/EL.19 of PROINVERSION (the «Resolution») was recently published in the Official Gazette «El Peruano», approving the incorporation of five electricity transmission projects to the process of promotion of private investment through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality.

The purpose of the Resolution is to incorporate five electricity transmission projects, which were entrusted to PROINVERSION by the Ministry of Energy and Mines through Ministerial Resolution Nº 055-2023-MINEM/DM, to the process of promoting private investment in the PPP modality.

The five projects that have been incorporated are the following:

1. 500 kV Chilca CTM-Carabayllo – Third Circuit (Component 1.1. of the 500 kV Chilca, CTM-Carabayllo Linking Project, Transformer and Air Core Reactor Expansion SE Chilca CTM)
2. New Bicentenario 500/220 kV substation, extensions and associated substations.
3. Reconfiguration of 220 kV Chavarría – Santa Rosa – Carapongo link, lines, extensions and associated substations (ITC Project).
4. New 220 kV Muyurina Substation, New Ayacucho Substation, LT 220 kV Muyurina – Ayacucho, extensions and associated substations.
5. Ica Power System Supply Capacity Expansion (ITC Project)

With the incorporation of these projects to the promotion process, the formulation stage is concluded. The structuring phase will now begin, in which each project will be designed as a public-private partnership, to be followed by the transaction phase. It is in this last phase that the tenders will be conducted and the projects will be awarded.
