Transport and Communications Alert – June 2020

Health protocols are amended for the continuity of services under the scope of the transport and communications sector

On June 4, 2020, Ministerial Resolution No. 0301-2020-MTC/01 was published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano”, amending five sectoral health protocols for the continuity of services under the scope of the Transport and Communications Sector, adopted by Ministerial Resolution No. 0258-2020-MTC/01.

The protocols to be amended are as follows:

• Sectoral health protocol for the prevention of COVID-19, in land and rail transport of cargo and goods and related activities at the national level (Annex IV);
• Sectoral health protocol for the prevention of COVID-19, in the river transport of cargo and goods and related activities at the international, national and regional level (Annex V);
• Sectoral health protocol for the prevention of COVID-19, in the special public passenger transport service in the taxi mode and in small vehicles (Annex VI);
• Sectoral health protocol for the prevention of COVID-19, in the regular passenger transport service at the provincial level (Annex VII); and,
• Sectoral health protocol for the prevention of COVID-19, in the transport of workers at the national, regional and provincial levels (Annex VIII).

The Ministerial Resolution under comment specifies that the protocols in question have been amended in order to include certain recommendations made by the Ministry of Health to prevent infections during the progressive and orderly resumption of projects.
