1. New Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture was appointed to the Ministry of Production
Through Supreme Resolution No. 009-2020-PRODUCE published today Wednesday November 25 2020, Ursula Desilú León Chempén was appointed as the new Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production – PRODUCE to replace María de Carmen Abregú Baez.
2. Industrial fishery for anchovy was suspended in the coastal area
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 393-2020-PRODUCE published today Wednesday November 25, 2020, the extractive activities for anchovy resources (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchovy Nasus) were suspended for 10 calendar days for the industrial fleet and in the area between 11°30′ SL and 13°00′ SL. The referred suspension is valid from 5 miles to 50 miles from the coast and is effective from 00.00 hours the day after the publication.
3. Suspension of hake fishery by trawlers in coastal areas
Through Ministerial Resolution No. 394-2020-PRODUCE published today Wednesday November 25 2020, the extractive activities of the hake resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus) were suspended for 7 calendar days for the trawler fleet and in the zone between 04°40′ S and 05°20′ S. The referred suspension is effective from 00.00 hours of the following day of the publication.
