MTC launches call for tenders for the construction of the Santa Rosa Bridge through the Works for Taxes modality

On May 26, 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (the “MTC”) launched the call for the execution of the project “Construction of the Santa Rosa Bridge, accesses, traffic circle and overpass” (the “Project” or “Santa Rosa”), through the modality of Works for Taxes.

The purpose of the Project is to provide adequate traffic conditions in the access to the Jorge Chávez International Airport, allowing the integration with the development of air transportation.

Specifically, the Santa Rosa bridge will allow access to the Jorge Chávez International Airport through Morales Duárez Avenue and will be one of the accesses to the new airport terminal. The 65-meter long infrastructure will cross the Rimac River and will join Santa Rosa Avenue with the entrance to the airport facility.

In addition, it is important to point out that on May 25 the call for tenders for the contracting of the supervising entity for the execution of the Santa Rosa bridge was also made, with the purpose of safeguarding its timely execution.

The execution of this important Project, whose estimated investment amount is S/ 348 million soles, will directly benefit the residents of Callao, by reducing traffic congestion, and indirectly to nationals and foreigners who use the access and exit roads to and from the airport.

The bidding conditions are published in PROINVERSION’s institutional website and it is estimated that the awarding of the contract will take place in the third quarter of 2023.

Finally, it is important to mention that the Santa Rosa bridge is part of a group of eight MTC works that are being promoted to be executed under the works for taxes modality.
