On August 27, 2024, Directorial Resolution No. 628-2024 MGP/DICAPI was published, which provides for the publication of the draft “International Code for the Safe Carriage of Irradiated Nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-Level Radioactive Waste in Packages on Board Ships (INF Code)”
- Considering that the Maritime Safety Committee of the International Maritime Organization has been updating and incorporating new provisions to the INF Code, originally issued in May 1999, it is considered convenient to approve this update to the INF Code, with the purpose of establishing new standards in accordance with the international regulations in force and the current reality.
- The draft can be reviewed on Dicapi’s web page. Proposals, opinions and recommendations should be sent to the Director of Aquatic Environment of the General Directorate of the Coast Guard and Coast Guard.
