FISHING CLOSURES AND AUTHORIZATIONS

  • EXCEPTIONALLY AUTHORIZE THE 2026–2027 MAHI-MAHI FISHING SEASON: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 250-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 12, the mahi-mahi fishing season was exceptionally authorized from September 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. A catch quota of 7,375 metric tons was established for the period from September 1 to September 30, 2026.
  • AUTHORIZE IMARPE TO CONDUCT EUREKA OPERATION LXXVIII WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF FISHING VESSELS: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 257-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 12, IMARPE was authorized to conduct Eureka Operation LXXVIII in the maritime area between Talara (04°35’S) and Morro Sama (18°30’S), extending up to 50 nautical miles from the coast, from August 15 to 18, 2026. The operation will be carried out with the participation of 19 purse-seine vessels with a hold capacity exceeding 110 m³ and three reserve vessels.
  • AUTHORIZE A TEMPORARY SPECIAL FISHING REGIME FOR THE HARVESTING OF OPPORTUNISTIC SPECIES: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 266-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 14, a temporary special regime was authorized for the harvesting of opportunistic species in response to the Coastal El Niño phenomenon, until April 30, 2027. The regime applies to fishing vessels with a hold capacity of up to 32.6 m³.
  • AUTHORIZE IMARPE TO CONDUCT GIANT SQUID OPERATION WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF FISHING VESSELS: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 269-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 15, IMARPE was authorized to conduct Giant Squid Operation V up to 150 nautical miles from the coast. The operation will take place from August 23 to 29, 2026, with the participation of up to 30 fishing vessels with a hold capacity of up to 32.6 m³.
  • AMEND BONITO CATCH QUOTA FOR JANUARY–DECEMBER 2026: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 272-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 16, Ministerial Resolution No. 169-2026-PRODUCE was amended, establishing a bonito catch quota of 118,200 metric tons for January–December 2026, applicable to fishing vessels with a hold capacity of up to 32.6 m³.
  • AUTHORIZE IMARPE TO CONDUCT A BIOLOGICAL-FISHERIES SURVEY FOR PATAGONIAN TOOTHFISH: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 276-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 20, IMARPE was authorized to conduct a biological-fisheries survey for Patagonian toothfish between the northern limit of Peru's maritime domain and 09°00’S, until December 31, 2026. The survey will be conducted with the participation of two (2) small-scale fishing vessels.
  • CONCLUDE THE FIRST 2026 ANCHOVETA FISHING SEASON IN THE NORTH-CENTRAL AREA: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 285-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 20, the first 2026 anchoveta fishing season in the north-central area was declared concluded as of 12:00 a.m. on the day following publication of the Resolution.
  • ESTABLISH ANCHOVETA CATCH QUOTA FOR DIRECT HUMAN CONSUMPTION FOR 2026: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 301-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 29, the Total Maximum Catch Limit (quota) for anchoveta for direct human consumption for 2026 was established at 75,000 metric tons, applicable throughout the Peruvian coastline to artisanal and small-scale fishing vessels holding a fishing permit for such resource.
  • AMEND BONITO CATCH QUOTA FOR JANUARY–DECEMBER 2026: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 303-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 29, the 2026 bonito catch quota was amended to 118,200 metric tons, applicable to fishing vessels with a hold capacity of up to 32.6 m³.
  • ESTABLISH GIANT FLYING SQUID (POTA) CATCH QUOTA FOR 2026: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 304-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 29, the Total Maximum Catch Limit (quota) for giant flying squid (pota) for 2026 was established at 709,659 metric tons.
  • ESTABLISH JACK MACKEREL AND CHUB MACKEREL CATCH QUOTAS FOR SEPTEMBER–DECEMBER 2026: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 302-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 30, the Total Maximum Catch Limits (quotas) for jack mackerel and chub mackerel for September–December 2026, applicable to fishing vessels with a hold capacity of up to 32.6 m³, were established at 60,770 and 41,333 metric tons, respectively.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

  • APPROVE DIRECTIVE ON THE HANDLING OF REPORTS OF ALLEGED ACTS OF CORRUPTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 275-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 19, General Directive No. 003-2026-PRODUCE-DM, entitled “Provisions Governing the Handling of Reports of Alleged Acts of Corruption and the Granting of Protective Measures to Whistleblowers at the Ministry of Production,” was approved. Accordingly, Ministerial Resolution No. 199-2021-PRODUCE, which approved the previous directive, is repealed.
  • ESTABLISH PROVISIONS ON THE APPLICATION OF THE STOWAGE FACTOR FOR HYDROBIOLOGICAL RESOURCES DESTINED FOR DIRECT HUMAN CONSUMPTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 278-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 20, provisions were established regarding the application of the stowage factor to hydrobiological resources destined for direct human consumption, in order to establish the equivalence between cubic meters (m³) and metric tons (MT).
  • FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE SUBSECTORS DECLARED IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY: Through Supreme Decree No. 012-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 23, the fisheries and aquaculture subsectors were declared in a state of emergency for 120 calendar days to implement immediate and necessary response measures and actions in connection with the occurrence of the El Niño phenomenon. The Ministry of Production must approve the corresponding “Emergency Plan” within 15 business days.
  • AMEND THE “CONSERVATION, INVESTMENT, AND AQUACULTURE PRODUCTION AGREEMENT”: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 291-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 25, the “Conservation, Investment, and Aquaculture Production Agreement,” approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 258-2016-PRODUCE, was amended. The agreement must be entered into by applicants seeking a concession to carry out aquaculture activities in public-domain areas.

  • APPOINTED SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 223-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 1, Mr. Fernando Alarcón Díaz was appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED HEAD OF THE ADVISORS' OFFICE OF THE MINISTERIAL OFFICE OF THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 220-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 1, Mr. Sergio González Guerrero was appointed Head of the Advisors' Office of the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED ADVISOR TO THE MINISTERIAL OFFICE OF THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 228-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 3, Mr. Ivan Melecio Medina Haro was appointed Advisor to the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED HEAD OF FONDEPES: Through Supreme Resolution No. 011-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 4, Mr. José Ernesto Montalva de Falla was appointed Head of the National Fisheries Development Fund (FONDEPES).
  • APPOINTED TO SERVE AS EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT OF IMARPE: Through Supreme Resolution No. 012-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 4, Mr. Renato Carol Guevara Carrasco was appointed to serve as Executive President of the Peruvian Sea Institute (IMARPE).
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE POLICIES AND REGULATORY ANALYSIS OF THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 232-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 5, Mr. Ricardo Gabriel Herbozo Colque was appointed Director General of the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Policies and Regulatory Analysis of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF AQUACULTURE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 234-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 5, Mr. José Edgardo Allemant Sayán was appointed Director General of the General Directorate of Aquaculture.
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF SUPERVISION, INSPECTION, AND SANCTIONS OF THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 237-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 5, Mr. Guillermo Enrique Fustamante Irigoin was appointed Director General of the General Directorate of Supervision, Inspection, and Sanctions.
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FISHERIES FOR DIRECT AND INDIRECT HUMAN CONSUMPTION OF THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 239-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 5, Mr. Daniel Hugo Collachagua Pérez was appointed Director General of the General Directorate of Fisheries for Direct and Indirect Human Consumption of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF AQUACULTURE MANAGEMENT OF THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF AQUACULTURE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 252-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 12, Mr. Omar Ricardo Ríos Bravo de Rueda was appointed Director of Aquaculture Management of the General Directorate of Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF AQUACULTURE PROMOTION OF THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF AQUACULTURE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 254-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 12, Ms. Nathaly Marina Vargas López was appointed Director of Aquaculture Promotion of the General Directorate of Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED ADVISOR TO THE VICE-MINISTERIAL OFFICE OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 259-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 13, Ms. Nelly Silvana Quintero Malpartida was appointed Advisor to the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
  • APPOINTED ADVISOR TO THE MINISTERIAL OFFICE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 261-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 13, Ms. Cynthia Ruth Flores Huamaní was appointed Advisor to the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF ARTISANAL FISHERIES PROMOTION AND FORMALIZATION OF THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF ARTISANAL FISHERIES: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 284-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 20, Mr. Juan Camilo Rios Horna was appointed Director of Artisanal Fisheries Promotion and Formalization of the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED ADVISOR TO THE MINISTERIAL OFFICE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 289-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 21, Mr. Augusto Enrique Eguiguren Praeli was appointed Advisor to the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Production.
  • APPOINTED MEMBER OF THE IMARPE BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Through Supreme Resolution No. 014-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on August 25, Mr. Mariano Sergio Gutierrez Torero was appointed as a member of the IMARPE Board of Directors, representing the Ministry of Production.
