CLOSED SEASONS AND AUTHORIZATIONS
1. ANCHOVY CATCH LIMIT FOR DIRECT CONSUMPTION ESTABLISHED FOR 2025
Ministerial Resolution No. 235-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on July 8, established the catch limit (quota) for anchovy resources intended for direct human consumption for the year 2025 at 125,000 tons.
2. THE FIRST 2025 ANCHOVY FISHERY SEASON IN THE NORTH CENTRAL REGION IS DECLARED CLOSED
By means of Directorial Resolution No. 120-2025-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on July 23, the first anchovy fishery season in the north-central zone between the northernmost point of the maritime domain and 16°00'S was declared closed. This conclusion is effective from 00:00 hours on the day following the publication of this resolution. Likewise, unloading and processing are authorized for up to 24 and 48 hours, respectively, from the aforementioned conclusion.
3. MODIFICATION OF THE PROVISIONAL REGIME FOR HAKE RESOURCES FOR THE PERIOD JULY 2025 – JUNE 2026
By Ministerial Resolution No. 246-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on July 26, the provisional regime for hake established by Ministerial Resolution No. 229-2025-PRODUCE was modified, and a catch limit of 10,000 tons was established for the period from July 1 to August 31, 2025.
4. IMARPE AUTHORIZED TO CARRY OUT GIANT SQUID OPERATION III
By Ministerial Resolution No. 248-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on July 31, IMARPE was authorized to carry out “Operation Giant Squid III” from August 1 to 10, 2025, in the maritime area between 0 and 100 miles, with the participation of up to 25 artisanal vessels.
GENERAL REGULATIONS
1. CONSERVATION MEASURES ESTABLISHED FOR TUNA FISHERIES IN COMPLIANCE WITH IATTC RESOLUTIONS
Ministerial Resolution No. 247-2025-PRODUCE, published on the Ministry of Production's website on July 26, established closed season provisions in compliance with IATTC provisions for 16 vessels flying the national flag with tuna permits.

1. APPOINTMENT OF THE HEAD OF FONDEPES
Supreme Resolution No. 003-2025-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on July 26, appointed Mr. Elmer Jesús Nieves Valle to the position of head of the National Fisheries Development Fund (FONDEPES) from July 30 to August 8, 2025.
