FISHING CLOSURES AND AUTHORIZATIONS

  • SUSPENSION OF ANCHOVETA FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 162-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 10, anchoveta fishing activities were suspended in the maritime area extending from the northernmost limit of Peru’s maritime domain to latitude 16°00'S, within the framework of the first 2026 anchoveta fishing season for the North-Central Zone.
  • CAPTURE LIMIT ESTABLISHED FOR BONITO FOR THE JANUARY–DECEMBER 2026 PERIOD: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 169-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 13, the capture limit (quota) for bonito for the January–December 2026 period was set at 93,200 metric tons (MT).
  • AMENDMENT TO THE CAPTURE QUOTA FOR GIANT SQUID (POTA): Through Ministerial Resolution No. 170-2026-PRODUCE, published in a special edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 13, the capture quota for giant squid (pota) for the January–December 2026 period was amended to 539,230 metric tons (MT).
  • COMMENCEMENT OF THE SECOND ANCHOVETA FISHING SEASON IN THE SOUTHERN ZONE FOR JULY–DECEMBER 2026: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 185-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 26, the commencement of the second anchoveta fishing season in the Southern Zone was authorized for the maritime area extending from latitude 16°00'S to the southernmost limit of Peru’s maritime domain, effective from 12:00 a.m. on July 1. The season covers the period from July to December 2026, with a catch quota of 251,000 metric tons (MT).
  • PROVISIONAL HAKE FISHING REGIME ESTABLISHED FOR JUNE 2026–JULY 2027: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 187-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 27, a provisional hake fishing regime was established for the period from June 2026 to July 2027, effective from 12:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026, until June 30, 2027, in the maritime area extending from the northernmost limit of Peru’s maritime domain to latitude 07°00'S. The catch quota was set at 10,000 metric tons (MT).

GENERAL REGULATIONS

  • TRANSIT AREAS AND ANCHORAGE ZONES ESTABLISHED WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CALLAO PORT CAPTAINCY: Through Directoral Resolution No. 348-2026-MGP/DICAPI, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 11, transit areas and anchorage zones for different classes of vessels were established within the jurisdiction of the Callao Port Captaincy.
  • RESULT AND OUTPUT INDICATOR MATRIX FOR THE FISHERIES MANAGEMENT REGULATION OF GIANT SQUID (POTA) APPROVED: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 184-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on June 26, the Result and Output Indicator Matrix for the Fisheries Management Regulation governing the giant squid (pota) resource was approved.
