FISHING CLOSURES AND AUTHORIZATIONS
- MODIFYING CATCH LIMITS FOR THE GIANT SQUID OR “POTA” FISHERY FOR THE JANUARY–AUGUST 2026 PERIOD: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 120-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on May 1, the catch limit for the giant squid (pota) fishery for the January–August 2026 period was modified to 371,103 metric tons (MT).
- SUSPENSION OF FISHING ACTIVITIES FOR BONITO: Through Directorate Resolution No. 051-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on the Ministry of Production’s website on May 11, extractive activities for bonito carried out by artisanal vessels using purse seine nets larger than 20 m³ and up to 32.6 m³ were suspended, effective from 00:00 hours on May 12, 2026.
- SUSPENSION OF ANCHOVY FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Directorate Resolution No. 052-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on May 11, extractive activities for anchovy were suspended for 15 calendar days, from 00:00 hours on May 12 to 23:59 hours on May 26, 2026. The area covered is:
- 06°00’S – 14°00’S, within 30 nautical miles.
- SUSPENSION OF BONITO FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Directorate Resolution No. 054-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on May 11, extractive activities for bonito carried out by artisanal vessels using purse seine nets smaller than 10 m³ were suspended, effective from 00:00 hours on May 13, 2026.
- MODIFYING CATCH LIMITS FOR THE GIANT SQUID OR “POTA” FISHERY FOR THE JANUARY–DECEMBER 2026 PERIOD: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 141-2026-PRODUCE, published in an extraordinary edition of El Peruano on May 19, the catch limit for giant squid (pota) for the January–December 2026 period was modified to 479,311 metric tons (MT).
- SUSPENSION OF BONITO FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Directorate Resolution No. 055-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on May 20, extractive activities for bonito carried out by artisanal vessels using gillnets and other passive gear were suspended from 00:00 hours on May 22, 2026.
- SUSPENSION OF BONITO FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Directorate Resolution No. 059-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on May 22, extractive activities for bonito carried out by artisanal vessels using purse seine nets between 10 m³ and 20 m³ were suspended from 00:00 hours on May 24, 2026.
- SUSPENSION OF ANCHOVY FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Directorate Resolution No. 060-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on May 11, extractive activities for anchovy were suspended for 15 calendar days, from 00:00 hours on May 27 to 23:59 hours on June 10, 2026. The area covered i:

- SUSPENSION OF HAMMERHEAD SHARK FISHING ACTIVITIES: Through Directorate Resolution No. 062-2026-PRODUCE/DGSFS-PA, published on May 29, extractive activities for hammerhead shark were suspended from 00:00 hours on May 31, 2026

- APPOINTMENT OF HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION AT THE MINISTRY OF PRODUCTION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 140-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on May 20, the Head of Human Resources Administration of the Human Resources Administration Office of the Ministry of Production was appointed as Mr. Mario Vicente Amancio Aranda.
- APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR OF ARTISANAL FISHERIES PROMOTION AND FORMALIZATION: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 145-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on May 26, Mr. José Clodomiro Aldana Jacinto was appointed as Director of Artisanal Fisheries Promotion and Formalization of the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
- APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR OF ARTISANAL FISHERIES MANAGEMENT: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 146-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on May 26, Mr. Juan Carlos Córdova Calle was appointed as Director of Artisanal Fisheries Management of the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
- APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR GENERAL OF AQUACULTURE: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 149-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on May 29, Mr. Rodolfo Alejandro Espinoza Ruiz was appointed as Director General of Aquaculture of the General Directorate of Aquaculture of the Vice Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.
