FISHING CLOSURES AND AUTHORIZATIONS
- IMARPE AUTHORIZED TO CONDUCT EXPLORATORY ANCHOVETA FISHING IN COASTAL WATERS: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 363-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 20, exploratory fishing was authorized along the Peruvian coast, outside the 5-nautical-mile zone, using large-scale purse-seine vessels with a hold capacity of up to 110 m³. The exploratory fishing operation will commence at 00:00 hours on the day following publication of the list of authorized vessels and will last for fifteen (15) calendar days.
- AMENDMENT TO EXPLORATORY ANCHOVETA FISHING IN COASTAL WATERS: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 368-2026-PRODUCE, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 22, the exploratory anchoveta fishing operation authorized by Ministerial Resolution No. 363-2026-PRODUCE was amended to include the anchoveta species Engraulis ringens in the authorization.
- IMARPE AUTHORIZED TO CONDUCT A SECOND EXPLORATORY FISHING OPERATION FOR GIANT SQUID (POTA): Through Ministerial Resolution No. 382-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 28, a second exploratory fishing operation for giant squid (pota) was authorized along the entire Peruvian coast, from November 1 to 30, 2026, using fishing vessels with a hold capacity of up to 32.6 m³.
GENERAL REGULATIONS
- ADAPTIVE-MANAGEMENT STRATEGY APPROVED FOR THE JUMBO FLYING SQUID (POTA) FISHERY DURING THE 2026–2027 EL NIÑO PHENOMENON: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 348-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 3, the implementation of an adaptive-management strategy for the jumbo flying squid (pota) fishery was approved through the conduct of exploratory fishing operations during the 2026–2027 El Niño event.
- METROLOGICAL CONTROL OF SCALES AT PROCESSING PLANTS ESTABLISHED: Through Directorial Resolution No. 063-2026-INACAL/DM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 5, metrological control was approved for non-automatic weighing instruments (scales) used at industrial fishery product processing plants for direct human consumption (DHC) and indirect human consumption (IHC).
- MINISTERIAL RESOLUTION AMENDED TO INCLUDE BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS IN WORKING GROUPS: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 352-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 8, Ministerial Resolution No. 340-2026-PRODUCE was amended to incorporate representatives of business associations into the working groups established for the sustainable management of the jumbo flying squid (pota) and purse-seine fisheries.
- GUIDELINES FOR THE ALLOCATION OF THE HIGH SEAS JACK MACKEREL QUOTA GRANTED TO PERU BY THE SPRFMO AMENDED: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 353-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 8, provisions and sections of the Guidelines for the Allocation of the High Seas Jack Mackerel Quota Granted to Peru by the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) were amended and incorporated.
- WORKING GROUP ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE THE MARKETING AND MARKET ACCESS OF NON-PECTINID BIVALVE MOLLUSKS: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 354-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 8, a sectoral working group was established to promote the domestic marketing and access to international markets of non-pectinid bivalve mollusks.
- PROVISIONS APPROVED TO ENSURE THE CONTINUITY OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE ACTIVITIES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE 2026–2027 EL NIÑO PHENOMENON: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 356-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 9, provisions were approved to ensure the continuity of fisheries and aquaculture activities in the context of the 2026–2027 El Niño Phenomenon, particularly with regard to compliance with environmental monitoring requirements and measures for the rehabilitation, recovery, or adaptation of affected components, facilities, or systems.
- GUIDELINES FOR THE ALLOCATION OF THE HIGH SEAS JACK MACKEREL QUOTA GRANTED TO PERU BY THE SPRFMO AMENDED: Through Ministerial Resolution No. 361-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 18, paragraph 5.5 of Section V of the Guidelines for the Allocation of the High Seas Jack Mackerel Quota Granted to Peru by the SPRFMO was amended.
- FIRST SECTION OF SANIPES’ ORGANIZATION AND FUNCTIONS REGULATIONS APPROVED: Through Supreme Decree No. 015-2026-PRODUCE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 20, the first section of SANIPES’ Organization and Functions Regulations was approved, comprising three (3) titles and forty-three (43) articles.

- APPOINTMENT OF IMARPE’S GENERAL MANAGER: Through Executive Presidency Resolution No. 166-2026-IMARPE/PE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 2, Ms. Wendy Ingrid Huerta Rodriguez was appointed General Manager of IMARPE.
- APPOINTMENT OF ITP’S GENERAL MANAGER: Through Executive Resolution No. 198-2026-ITP/DE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 4, Mr. Gustavo Eduardo Mostajo Ocola was appointed General Manager of ITP.
