Our partner Francisco Tong contributed to the magazine Desde Adentro, where he analyzes the main obstacles in Peru’s mining bureaucracy and proposes solutions to streamline procedures without compromising environmental and social standards. In his article, he highlights that the development of a mining project may require engagement with around 30 institutions and the acquisition of up to 500 permits, a situation that affects the country’s competitiveness. He also proposes reforms aimed at strengthening institutional frameworks, providing flexibility in environmental instruments, and moving toward a digital one-stop shop for the sector.
