Natural gas supply is declared in a state of emergency
By means of Vice-Ministerial Resolution No. 004-2026-MINEM/VMH dated March 1, 2026 (the “Resolution”), the Vice Ministry of Hydrocarbons of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (“MINEM”) declared a state of emergency in the supply of natural gas through the Production, Hydrocarbon Transportation by Pipeline, and Natural Gas Distribution by Pipeline Network Systems, for a period of fourteen (14) days from March 1 to March 14, 2026, during which priority must be given to supplying natural gas to the domestic market.
Pursuant to Article 3 of the Resolution, the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons must activate the Rationing Mechanism established in Supreme Decree No. 017-2018-EM.
