Julio Olortegui specializes in arbitration with experience in domestic and international arbitration in commercial matters. 

He has experience in investment and commercial arbitrations administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), as well as in ad hoc arbitrations conducted under the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Julio was part of Clifford Chance's international arbitration team at its Washington, D.C. office (2024–2025) and was an intern in Dechert LLP's international arbitration practice at its Paris office (2016).

He currently serves as Assistant Editor for South and Central America for the Kluwer Arbitration Blog. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Peruvian Chapter of the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club; Secretary of the Publications Subcommittee of the ALARB Energy and Natural Resources Committee; Co-Chair of the Young ITA Mentorship Program; and Regional Representative of the Young ICCA.
