Martin Chocano specializes in international and domestic arbitration, as well as in commercial, civil, constitutional, and contentious-administrative litigation. 

Has extensive experience in international investment arbitrations, administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) or conducted under the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Represents clients in domestic and international arbitrations administered by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the leading arbitral institutions in Peru, across civil, commercial, post-M&A, construction, infrastructure, and regulatory matters.

He has litigated at all levels of the Judiciary, including the Supreme Court including the Supreme Court of Peru, as well as before the Constitutional Tribunal.

Martin was an International Visiting Advisor at Dechert LLP’s international arbitration practice (Washington D.C). He has been assistant professor of Procedural Law at Universidad de Lima (UL).

He is listed in the Lima Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Center’s roster of national arbitrators and is a member of the Young Singapore International Arbitration Centre (YSIAC) Council for the period 2023-2027.

His practice has been recognized by different legal rankings such as Chambers & Partners, Legal500 and Lexology Index which include him in the Future Leader category (2024, 2025 and 2026), and granted him the Client Choice Award in the Arbitration category – Peru (2024)
