Estudio Rodrigo Strengthens Its Leadership in Mining and Environmental Law with the Incorporation of Miyanou Dufour and Her Team
Estudio Rodrigo announces the incorporation of a team of lawyers specializing in Mining and Environmental Law, comprising Miyanou Dufour, who joins the firm as a partner, together with associates Sebastian Saavedra and Flavia Alvarado. This team joins the Firm's Mining and Environmental practice group, a leader in the Peruvian legal market, further strengthening its operational capacity.
This incorporation responds to the high volume of new, large-scale mining projects to be developed in the country, in a context of increasing regulatory complexity and environmental oversight. With this addition, Estudio Rodrigo expands the capacity of its mining and environmental team, which has established itself as the benchmark in the Peruvian legal market, ensuring comprehensive and sophisticated coverage for local and international clients.

● Miyanou Dufour (Partner, Mining and Environmental Law): Miyanou has nearly 20 years of experience advising clients on the development of mining projects, providing strategic advice on permitting and the handling of the complex regulatory matters that such projects face. She is recognized as one of the sector's leading lawyers by international directories such as Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, IFLR1000, and Lexology.
She serves as Trustee at Large of The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law and Program, as well as Officer of the IBA's Mining Law Committee. She actively participates in organizations that promote women's participation in the legal profession, such as WIP Peru, WAAIME Peru, and WIM Peru, serving as a mentor to young women lawyers. She holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where she was recognized for her academic excellence.
● Sebastian Saavedra (Associate, Mining and Environmental Law): Sebastian has more than 12 years of experience in Mining and Environmental Law. His practice focuses on designing strategies for obtaining government authorizations, defending clients in administrative sanctioning proceedings before OEFA, OSINERGMIN, and ANA, and conducting legal due diligence in M&A and financing transactions. He holds an LL.M. in Mining Law and Policy from the University of Dundee (CEPMLP), obtained with distinction.
● Flavia Alvarado (Associate, Mining and Environmental Law): Flavia's practice focuses on advising clients on environmental and mining regulatory compliance, supporting them in oversight proceedings and regulatory risk management, as well as on legal due diligence for the acquisition of mining assets.
