Authorization is granted for the start of the first 2026 anchovy fishing season in the North-Central zone, with a quota of 1,914,049 tons
By means of Ministerial Resolution No. 085-2026-PRODUCE, published today, Wednesday, April 1, the start of the first anchovy fishing season for indirect human consumption was authorized in the area extending from the northernmost limit of the maritime domain to 16°00’S (North-Central zone), in accordance with the minimum period established in Article 3 of the Regulations of Legislative Decree No. 1084, Law on Maximum Catch Limits per Vessel, approved by Supreme Decree No. 021-2008-PRODUCE.
The Maximum Total Allowable Catch (quota) is 1,914,049 tons. The season will conclude once the quota is reached or when recommended by IMARPE for environmental or biological reasons.
